I wouldnt be surprised if the Rockets have the best record in the West this year. However, I cant see them making it out of the West, much less winning a championship. The less ball movement a team has, the easier it is to defend. The team will be minimized to the two stars and Gordon trying to outscore people.

Also to those saying Russ will be taking away rebounds from CC....Capela 500k incentive if he has 30% defensive rebound rate.

I didnt get how cp3 and harden would work together and it turned out meh but not a total disaster. I don’t get how Westbrook fits either but I’ll wait till I see it in action before I make a judgement. What helped with cp3/harden was that cp3 was alright off the ball and could make an open 3 pointer. Westbrook can’t do either very well.

It would make more sense for Harden to start trying to play off the ball more, for one to keep from running himself ragged and for two because he's a better shooter.

It's his team for sure, but trying to make Russ the off guard just to keep playing like he played with CP3 is a failure right out the gate.

They BOTH were going to have to adjust their games to progress, now this allows them to work out how together.

Did the owner tell him to get Jeremy Lamb?

He came in the ill advised Harden trade...again due to owner cheaping out
Did the owner tell him to give Kendrick Perkins all that money?
This shyt was dumb as fukk...no excuses

Did the owner tell him to trade Oladipo the year he became an all star...
He didnt show signs of being an Allstar and he was traded to get an established Allstar
Isn't Presit the guy who assembled a team that has been a first round exit every year while also being one of the highest payroll team in the nba every year

Their is no doubt Presti has an eye for young talent...he might legit be the best at evaluating young college players and that is including RC Buford... Presit drafted 3 mvp's...plenty of GM's go their entire career and don't draft one...

But that is his only real talent...he has been pretty bad at everything else...dude should be your head scout...not a gm...

I dont think he is without blame at all...he also failed to get quality coaching...Brooks and Donovan aint it

In an absolute shocker, the Houston Rockets acquired Russell Westbrook to pair with James Harden, as they continue to covet an NBA title.

Harden pushed for an opportunity to reunite with his former teammate following seven years apart after the Oklahoma City Thunder decided to move their stars for draft picks. It was a win-now move that has Harden excited about playing with Westbrook during the upcoming season.

"I've been knowing Russell since I was 10 years old. We grew up together," Harden said Friday. "Obviously, when I left Oklahoma City, I was sad. But then Houston made a home for me. Rockets is my home. And now an opportunity became available where Russ wasn't happy. Now we're back."

He added: "It's going to be a lot of fun this year, I guarantee you that. There's going to be a lot of excitement."

The Thunder franchise drafted Harden one year after selecting Westbrook. The pair - along with Kevin Durant - reached the NBA Finals in 2012. Harden was subsequently traded to Houston after falling to the Miami Heat in five games, giving him free rein to become one of the craftiest scorers in league history.

Neither Harden nor Westbrook has reached the NBA Finals since 2012. Harden has lost in the Western Conference finals twice in the last five seasons, while Westbrook's Thunder were eliminated in Round 1 in each of the last three campaigns.

Excitement but not winning a damn thing.
