How? Morey traded about 9 players for CP3 2 years ago with a under the table handshake that the Rockets would sign CP3 to an extension after the last year of his deal. That was his first year with the Rockets. Morey resigned CP3 to the fukking max. I thought CP3 should have took a discount to help resign Ariza or pick up some other FA's but that's whatever. CP3 got his money, Morey kept his word.
But CP3 this year was too often looking like a shell of himself. Like the decline was more than eminent, like it arrived. It was crystal clear in the Run It Back series against GSW in the 2nd round this year. This series everybody in Houston was looking forward to after the previous year. And CP3 just couldn't hit a shot or wasn't even looking to take shots. Rockets needed him to be aggressive offensively to put pressure on GSW when Harden wasn't in the game and CP3 didn't hold up his end of the deal.
We all know Westbrook won't have that problem. He's gonna put just as much pressure on the defense as Harden is. Westbrook in the open court gonna be a beast and Harden gonna dominate the half court offense. Everybody is so negative but Harden and Westbrook have gone to the Finals together already. I think they are gonna mesh well. Harden and CP3 shut the naysayers up about them not being able to share the ball. I expect Harden and Westbrook to do the same.
