Not really. He didnt' throw a pick in his first 8 games as a pro while absolutely carrying an NFL team. I know he is a flawed player but him and Russ started their careers in entirely different situations.

I like Russ but if you're really gonna compare Russ and Vick early on in their careers you have to look at the entire situation. Vick was asked to carry a team that was hot garbage breh. No one has asked that of Russ to date.

The point is Vick was supposed to redefine 'great QB' and push it to new limits. His ceiling was higher than what Russell is now is all I'm saying.

This is not that difficult keep up. You keep saying Vick has a better skill set but he doesn't. He doesn't have the smarts and willingness to learn how to be a great QB like Russ or the other guys. Athletic ability is just a portion of what it takes.

Mental ineptness? nikka please. Vick was perfectly able to play QB from a mental standpoint. Vick's main problems were/are work ethic and health. Health is out of his control, but work ethic is all on him. In a thread about what Vick should've been, it makes sense to look at his potential had he put in the work to perfect his craft.

You're acting like Wilson is God-status right now....he's not even the best QB in the league right now. Vick absolutely should've been better than Wilson is now.

What's scary is Wilson's still raw and still developing his game. Yes he has a ring but that belongs to the Seattle D (no knock on Wilson). Wilson has an opportunity to develop and fine-tune his game and become an elite QB in this league.

I honestly don't see why he can't be better than Andrew Luck in another 2-3 years.

The Falcons were 7-9 the year before Vick took over. Guess the Seahawks record the year before Russ took the helm. People act like Russ just walzted into a ready made champion when really his play has contributed greatly to their growth into that champion. Not gonna deny that the Seahawks are obviously better than those Falcons teams but Russ is clearly better than Vick was too. Their attempts per game are pretty comparable. It's not like they were asking Vick to throw 35-40 times per game. Their completion percentages are not. There decision making is not. It's not like Russ is throwing to AJ or Megatron either.

Russ is similar but Vick was still better.

He forced defensive coordinators to change defensive schemes to stop the running QB.

Although the running QB existed before him, Vick revolutionized the running QB position and was a legitimate threat to gain 100 yds running per game on top of throwing for a good 300-400 yds.

He certainly was flawed (not accurate, shaky decision making when passing) but, in his prime, Vick was better than Wilson is now.
