Watched last night. We wanted to do IMAX but it was sold out. Went to North Dekalb. 95% of the audience was black. It is Atlanta. It is the East Side.
:myman:
Wife was sleep within 20 mins.
:why:
It was probably 945 by the time the movie started. We normally sleep by 10.
:mjlol:
I enjoyed every minute of it. I’d give it a sold 8. Would watch again in theaters to support black movies.
:youngsabo:
I’m not a one person play twins kind of guy but MBJ did it well.

I know you seen this :wow:

It was fire from beginning to end. Had a little "Spike-Joint" energy too, I can see why he liked it. Love the atmosphere of showing how we were still on those fields post slavery. Acting was good, it was shot really well. Showed our historical culture including sharecropping, convict leasing and of course how we revolutionize and created all these music genres including Blues. Of course the Klan and Jim Crow. The Post-Credit Scene was ill too. I would have liked a little more backstory on the Vampires but the intro kind of touched on it.

Hailee was a little freak, lol. I see you Josh Allen, lol. Sad ending though but Michael B went out hard. Bottom line, I loved it. Black audiences showed out but other groups came too. Also look how both Ryan and Jordan have the Highest grossing Opening Weekends for "Original" films over the last 6 years with "Us, Nope and Sinners". All these original movies have been bombing left and right and the two Brothers came through and smashed the building. As far as Sammie:

Love how they showed he became a famous Blues Musician. I was waiting for Sammie to finish playing the song and then use the Guitar to kill both Stack and Mary right there, lol. I know he's old and it wouldn't have been realistic but for some reason I wanted it to happen, lol. Because when they walked through that door, I was like "Oh sh!t , he's old and can't fight back. Damn he's done", Future Stack was dressed like Biggie with the coogie sweater, lol [/spoilers]

I was waiting patiently for this shot, I had no idea it was going to be for that. Climax of the year.

It's not a musical. The MC (the twins) never even sing.

One of the central characters just happens to be a musician, so that's a big part of the movie.
And then there were actual singing parts through out the film. It's a musical. 2hr 17min with over 40 mins of music??????

I really think y'all aren't as smart as y'all like to think when it comes to films.
