My issue with Sinners is they play fast and loose with the vampire rules, everyone steals from Salem's lot by Stephen king (1979)

Originally, Bram Stoker had vampire make a familiar (which is not quite a full fledged vampire).

There have been movies even before Salem's lot where a vampire spent the whole movie making a vampire, I saw "love at first bite" (1950) at MLK summer camp, that black and white was remade Into the 1985 Jim Carey movie "once bitten" with a gender swap and a different ending. Sinners also takes from the Original tv show about sire lines but Coogler makes no clarifications about that, Intending for us to get lost in the weeds.

Scorcese and Deniro
Except they don't constantly rehash mafia movies over and over and over. They do different genres, Sports films, Superhero Films, Horror Films. Biopics .
They did do a western together recent but before that I think raging bull was the last Scorcese and Deniro stepped away from gangster movies.
I like Cooglers variety and willingness to experiment more.
