True story but dude is an a$$hole and Laker fans are frontrunning dikkriders that only started supporting the team because they won a lot. That in a nutshell makes it hard for me to ever give Kobe his proper respect.

You're a moron. With the exception of the early/mid 90's L.A. was always a winner for most of these posters lifetime, so how exactly are they frontrunning Kobe fans?

Kobe was the first player victimized by the failed "Next MJ" marketing ploy by the NBA and David Stern. I appreciate his game for being "Kobe" and no one else who is always brought up and forced down our collective basketball watching throats for no reason other than people refusing to get over one player. I salute you Kobe and appreciate your game while you play. Others will wait till your career ends to give you your proper respect for being one of the nba greats

Can't co-sign none of this BS, breh. :stopitslime:

Kobe was the first "next Jordan"? What about "Baby Jordan" himself Harold Miner? What about J.R. Rider? What about fellow UNC alum Stackhouse?

And you appreciate him for "being Kobe"? Kobe is nothing but a Jordan knock off. His whole damn style was bitten. :pacspit:

You made this thread stricty for daps, dunnie.

2001?

Kobe averaged 28.5 ppg, 5.9 rebs, 5.0 assts, 1.7 stls, 46.4% FG in the regular season and 29.3 pts, 7.3 rebs, 6.1 assts, 1.6 stls, 46.9% FG in the playoffs.

Iverson averaged 31.1 pts, 3.8 rebs, 4.5 assts, 2.5 stls, 42.0% FG in the regular season and 32.9 pts, 4.7 rebs, 6.1 assts, 2.4 stls, 38.9% FG in the playoffs

Yall are trying you dont remember there wasnt talks about who was better between the two?

Yall nikkas are young on here:snoop:
That shows a lot of people don't really understand the game of basketball. There shouldn't have even been a discussion. Kobe was clearly better than Iverson.

If you're a Laker fan and ain't from southern cali that means you only fukk with em because they win. It's pretty simple. I respect Clippers fans more if they rocked with them while they lost. You can't be from a state that has a team and be a Laker fan and get my respect. Anybody can be a fan of a team that wins, I respect mufukkas that rock with losing teams from their region. Laker fans to me are no different than mufukkas that started rocking with the Heat when Lebron signed.

thats cause Kareem was a big man....Kareem has any many titles, more MVPs, and more points than MJ

Jordan is only considered the GOAT because he came up in the 90s when mass media and globalization started and because his style of play was never seen before. It was more exciting and more marketable. If we are going strictly by numbers and accomplishments, Kareem has much right to be called the GREATEST PLAYER EVER as Jordan.

If Kobe passes MJ in scoring it'll be a big deal. People don't focus on per game stats when we are talking about overall career. No one knows who has the highest homeruns per game in baseball history, people only know who has the most homeruns. No one knows who has the highest rushing yards per game in NFL history, but everyone knows who has the most rushing yards.

Over an entire career, raw totals MATTER. Kobe passing MJ in total points would be huge. He would be the highest scoring non-big man in NBA history. That means something since the NBA is a game of bigmen and historically big men have been able to extend their careers longer than guards.

It also has to do with people crediting, rightly or wrongly, a lot of Kareem's success to Magic in the same way people do Shaq/Kobe.

The reason there was a "discussion" was because Iverson was puttin' up those numbers as the undisputed Top Shotta on his (piecemeal) team while Kobe was wingin' and flingin' on Shaq's team.

Iverson was winning without a dominant big, and people didn't think Kobe could do that.

:russ: @ this MJ hate thread masked as a Kobe appreciation topic...

Reb is relentless

At what point did I hate MJ? :what:

I talked about the people around him like Stern and his dikkriders. MJ is not at fault and nor did I point any fingers at him or slandered him.

I don't get it.

The thread is titled Salute Kobe and the majority of the front page is about Jordan's fans and supporters..

The fact that you describe his fans as dikk riders is a statement of slander...He's the greatest to ever play his sport..

I've never heard of Babe Ruth or Muhammad Ali "dikkriders"..When greatness is rightfully appreciated it's usually not met with such disdain...
