Here are a couple of other Master Teachers and Scholars you may not be familiar with that I will be working with in the near future:

Marcus Kline, he is focused on building Independent African Centered schools among other things:

Mwalimu Baruti - Dr Umar Johnson introduced to this Master Teacher

Appreciate the links breh.

I came late to this thread so I have no dog in the fight of whether people agree or disagree with the information presented in hidden colors. I only highlighted some of the authors in both films that were referenced as far as the information is concerned so people could have a chance to look up the information to judge for themselves. Many of the people presenting information in the documentary are doing so from some of the works of the authors I have mentioned. Matter of fact, some of them worked directly under those same people. But maybe your above point is referenced to others and not myself. I don't know.

But, what I do have a problem with is people not being able to thoroughly refute the claims they have made in regards to the information by citing sources that claim otherwise. Especially when debates regarding African history are the subject because of the social, and political implications they bring. African history is a touchy subject for many people because much of it does not fit their narrow world view of Africa or African people. All of that brings me to these questions; What reputable scholar or organization has discredited Ivan Van Sertima's work? And to what extent has that been done? I ask this because you can find his books being used by Universities in their history and humanities departments all over the world. Matter of fact I own all of his books and he documents thoroughly where he gets his sources from. The same can be said for JA rogers. While he does make some outrageous claims in some of his work, much of his work is beyond reproach when it comes to the level scholarship he put into bringing the information to the masses. I don't think his ideas were rooted in "white ideology", I believe they were rooted in finding truth regardless of the outcome. Authors such as these are starting points, but they are not the end all be all of scholarship on African history. That is exactly why I have researched and have read other authors to get a better hold of the information.

But if we are going to have a legitimate convo about disagreeing, then let's all come to the table with weapons ready to make our defense.

Breh didn't even post a single smiley :wow:

Nope.

Show me the mechanism. Melatonin has NOTHING to do with melanin. Two separate pathways. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melanocyte-stimulating_hormone

I'd love to see this.

Melanin is found and activated upon interaction with UV light of certain spectrums.

Melatonin reacts to wavelengths of blue light and plays a role in the regulation of circadian rhythms.

This is basic fukking biology.

So the Pituitary gland does not have Melatonin receptors? :rudy:

Again no one is saying that Hidden Colors is above reproach but to act as if the films are trash & don't educate is a poor stance with the lack of actual media out for Blacks to gravitate to and learn from. Hidden Colors is a base...a starting point. Its not the end all be all. I appreciate the film for that. I try not to knock it because this was/is needed in our community. I NEVER see people going at the Public Education system like this though...we let our kids learn multiple false hoods about 'us' without a bat of an eye. But as soon as a breh don't get it 100% right...he's clowned.

Its okay to criticize but don't slam the trying breh. Chill on that

sounds like this dude is trying to come up with some complicated way of saying he's not black :comeon:

No dumbass. Thats why actual science is important.

Black isn't really a thing outside of the united states. You're either dark or you're not, but it says nothing about where you're actually from or how society views you.

Dark Indians and Lighter skinned indians are both from India but it doesn't mean anything about where they're from in Africa.

It's not a defense since there's nothing to be defensive about. He used a bullshyt excuse of I'm just trying to help the cause and I called him out on it. And obviously I was right. I even told dude to let me know what organization he belongs to and I'd donate, and he ignored me and went on an emotional tangent.

Everytime these types of threads comes up, I ask the loud mouths the same questions. What are you doing to help the community you claim to care so deeply amount? 99% of the time them nikkas is nothing more than arm chair activists and facebook freedom fighters.

Personally I don't give 2 fukks about what Tyler Perry does or doesn't do. Some of his movies are aight, some are whack. And you'll never see me talking reckless about Tyler Perry because he's pretty much the only reason a lot of black actors even have work. I put him in the Tariq Nasheed category. Are there things I don't necessarily agree with? Sure. But at the end of the day he's actually doing something than sitting on a computer criticizing everyone who isn't.

Why the entire fukk does it matter what organization I belong to?

The film made errors and you're defending them!

Stop talking about what nikkas are doing and then only validating those who do something themselves.

More than half of ya'll wouldn't know something was wrong with the movies until this thread rolled along.

Why in the hell would he talk about Bacon's Rebellion in a documentary about Black history?

AH HA!

Because that was the reason for institutionalized racism among blacks in the West!

Thats what they don't tell your sorry asses.

White people and black people rose up against the feudal system so the lords/kings in places decided to create some internal class warfare to make the white men feel like if they're going to be poor and classless, at least they'll "be over" or "be better than" some other people in society.

Go read up on it verbatim. This LITERALLY happened.

Bruh. MELATONIN is whats in the pituitary. NOT MELANIN.

stop defending errors that can be corrected with even a slight attention to detail. :snoop:

breh what are you talking about? The pineal gland secretes melatonin which is sensitive to light. Melatonin works best during the night/dark..for sleep/healing etc. the pituitary gland has melatonin receptors that actually inhibit hyper-skin darkening (works as a balancing agent against MSH during the day/UV light). The pituitary secretes MelanocytesSH which regulates melanin, c'mon Mr. biology major I know you know this man :aicmon:

:why: you so mad anyway :pachaha:
