that's it. Other ppl i'll say good morning to only if I talk to them later on or see them in the elevator. way too many ppl

tbh yes i don't know what it is. if i don't know you, i don't like you, or if i'm straight up not comfortable around you i won't say jack shyt highest thing you might get from me is a head nod and that's it

for instance i saw a few guys i went to hs with today but i didn't feel the need to walk up to them and say hi because i never really knew them like that and on top i'm not a talkative person

also i have this mentality where if a person dont tell me hi i don't really see a reason why i should too, call it being petty or social anxiety or whatever that's how i just feel

i used to feel that way as an introvert so i understand the mentality but man trust me its much worse feeling isolated and nobody acknowledging your presence

Or worse yet, no one acknowledging you work. Say you do GREAT work.. you fukk yourself by not socializing it to others, when raise time comes.. you get passed over and cry racism or some other bullshyt.. but in fact you didn't let anyone get to know you to see how good you are. The lone wolf mind set DOESN'T WORK in corporate america. Hell look at all the white folks.. what white folk do the same thing this thread suggests "being rude not talking to people" and gets promoted etc? It don't happen..

No matter how you slice it, your co-workers are your team. You all fit into a bigger corporate puzzle working towards a goal (what ever job you do) why not embrace them? Seems shallow as fukk to live in your own bubble were nothing exists.. stop thinking small is my advice to you all. When you start to think bigger it all make sense.

The perception of your reputation at work, is the reality all at the office will judge you by.

NO it isn't about being fake either, you can be yourself and deliver your communication in your own way. Nothing about being social means you must be fake about it.

Think of it like this... you can be strong in anything.. but without control and structure that strength can become your very weakness.. don't get over confident.. be structured and control yourself. Say hello, good morning, etc.. You'll notice SIMPLE shyt like this can turn out to give you huge advantages at the work place later. So be friendly, say good morning, fukking better yourself to communicate effectively.. and this won't come back to bite you in the ass come raise time or cut time.
