SERIOUSLY: What is the point of having children?

At least you admit it. When I tell people who don't want children that it's because they're self-absorbed they get offended lololololol.

Every single person I know in life who doesn't want children at any point in life all same the exact same characteristic of selfishness.

oh im extremely selfish. every time i fork over child support cash i at the thought of what i coulda bought MYSELF with it or how much i would have in my account if i didnt have to give it up

I thought the same way before I had a kid but I had my son young.

But I'm sorry, nothing compares to going to my son's games and watching him put in work and hearing other parents and kids in the stands talk about him, or going to wake him up and seeing him rocking a wifebeater and his wave cap like his dad

I'm not one of those sad cats to be like how can I bring a child into this cruel world because this world hasn't been cruel to me and my son has easily had a better life than I did as a kid.

I have got family network so anytime I really want to do something he hangs oout with my sister's kids and vice versa so I don't really feel like I'm missing out on much socially.
Why go to the bar and watch the game when I can sip on henny at home talking basketball with my son?

Having kids isn't everybody's thing so if you know it isn't for you, don't feel pressured by society or your fam to do so. But its the best thing that happened to me, shyt really turned my life around.

yeah but on the flip side most people in our generation dont do well with having a bunch of options anyway, so having a kid at least forces them to focus on one thing.

i hate to say it but having a kid gives a lot of lost people a purpose.​

Sorry, but it isn't selfish to not want kids. I literally have not heard one person give a good reason as to why it is. Because someone wants to be free to travel, eat out, etc. without worrying about kids? That's not selfish. Selfish is having kids, and THEN doing those things when you shouldn't.

I don't think I want them. The baby stage is cute and all, but when they get a bit older and the actual parenting begins sounds absolutely terrible. Its an overwhelming responsibility that I don't think I want. And on top of that it is ridiculously expensive.

2) You're not too selfish to have kids, you not having a kid when you don't want one isn't selfish. Doing what's best for you (if it doesn't hurt someone else) is NOT selfish.

Lol, yeah they think they know everything now. But my dad did the same to me so I know how it is hanging with ya Dad feeling like a lil man talking about sports.

Watching the Fab Five Doc with my son and being able to tell him about all the players from that era and what things were like

Thats the thing bruh, if you have kids you WON'T shoot yourself in the head at 35 or 50.

And once you have kids and you are a part of their life, you will never be lonely again. You might not always get to do stuff you want, but you'll never complain about being "bored" and shyt.

I understand the problems that people are saying with kids in today's economy and the lack of patience, but the birthrates are gonna plummet and the population will suffer cause of that.
