Seriously, why is the Switch so rare to find?

You guys don't understand business. It's not artificial shortages, its releasing with conservative number to test the waters before ramping up production.

You think nintendo wouldn't have loved to get many more to buy a switch at launch? should they make 50 million of them available on day 1 and let dead stock sit across the world and potentially unsold?
They don't sound confident in their product then. Xb1 did why can't they

This is exactly what happened with me. I wanted to buy one, nobody had em and now I lost interest :yeshrug:

Probably wont even buy one now to be honest. its about to be summer, I already got a big backlog and by the time the fall hits there will be too many big new releases coming out on my ps4 for me to care about whats goin on with the switch
Exactly. I am gonna buy Zero Dawn soon, I am also not done with the Witcher 3. By the time I am done with those games Red Dead 2 would by close to release.

However I already bought Breath of The Wild and I am gonna have to get a Switch to play it eventually.

People can talk about artificial shortages or whatever but Nintendo was very transparent with the supply for the Switch. They said months ago they were gonna ship 2 mil by the end of the fiscal year (Mar. 31). And with the sales numbers that have been reported so far, that seems to be true

Microsoft was following up one of the greatest consoles of all time.

Are you serious? Don't you remember how bad the Wii U flopped? It's only natural to play it safe.
You think MS going to play it safe with scorpio? I understand the flopping but Nintendo makes consistently good games, so it's not like consumers going to be fukked.

It's obvious at this point that Nintendo released this console just to get back out there. The Switch shipped missing many things on the software side that it should have had; many things Nintendo have stated would be released in future updates. As another poster stated they are pretty much testing the waters. You pretty much won't really be able to access a Switch till about the end of the year (holiday season), with the release of Mario Odyssey. With the release of a speculated Pokemon game also coming in 2018, I believe Nintendo may have smarten up.

I think for a specific demographic the Switch can and will be a primary console. Yeah, the Switch isn't as powerful as the PS4 of Xbox; however, it is the most powerful tablet out there. For the space that Nintendo had to make things happen for the Switch they did implement the fastest mobile chip out their that could be massed produced. The fact that you have a game that is as huge as Zelda, which can take up to 100+ hours to beat; which you can play on the go, where you do not have to be confined to your home to play will appeal to a large demographic. Developers are about sales, while there are many who have stated they will be releasing on the platform, I believe many are looking to see how the system will sell.

The fact that you have working people like this truck driver, who do not have the time to sit in front of a TV, but can actually play a AAA title game on the go, speaks to the demographic that Nintendo seeks to reach with the Switch.

I feel ya but Nintendo had to know that more than 2 million gamers WW wanted a switch within the 1st month. Hell the Wi U shipped more. By Nintendo doing this it's making a lot of gamers like me say :yeshrug:

What exactly is Nintendo's logic behind limiting the number of Switch consoles they shipped out? I already bought a copy of Breath of The Wild and that shyt is collecting dust because I can't buy the Switch anywhere.

And now I am hearing there is gonna be a scarcity of Switches until the end of the yr.
Nintendo been doing this with stuff for years... the company is basically stupid.
