Nintendo has ALWAYS played it conservatively. The N64 was damn near IMPOSSIBLE to find at launch, my mom was looking for that shyt for MONTHS because I was a young Nintendo fanboy and wanted to play it.

The gamecube was widely available because they were going up against Sony in their dominant run and a new comer in the xbox by Microsoft.

What exactly is Nintendo's logic behind limiting the number of Switch consoles they shipped out? I already bought a copy of Breath of The Wild and that shyt is collecting dust because I can't buy the Switch anywhere.

And now I am hearing there is gonna be a scarcity of Switches until the end of the yr.

The Wii U was a flop so they were conservative with their estimates for shipping the Switch. The market responded better to the Switch so they're doubling production.

The logic was we'll play it by ear instead of going all in on a product that might have gotten a frosty reception.
