I think for a specific demographic the Switch can and will be a primary console. Yeah, the Switch isn't as powerful as the PS4 of Xbox; however, it is the most powerful tablet out there. For the space that Nintendo had to make things happen for the Switch they did implement the fastest mobile chip out their that could be massed produced. The fact that you have a game that is as huge as Zelda, which can take up to 100+ hours to beat; which you can play on the go, where you do not have to be confined to your home to play will appeal to a large demographic. Developers are about sales, while there are many who have stated they will be releasing on the platform, I believe many are looking to see how the system will sell.
The fact that you have working people like this truck driver, who do not have the time to sit in front of a TV, but can actually play a AAA title game on the go, speaks to the demographic that Nintendo seeks to reach with the Switch.
