I didn't think Innie Mark was going to go along with the plan, it was obvious to me at least that he was going to go rouge once he got to that last part. You understand that innie Mark leaving meant suicide right?
He didn't want to kill himself, Helly, and Dylan. That makes all the sense in the world.
Mark's actions were in contrast to Dylan's. Innie Dylan found love and was basically committing suicide once Gretchen said she wouldn't see him anymore. Outie Dylan wouldn't let him.
Innie Mark was in love with Helly and chose to stay alive. What happens at Lumon after is unknown to him but that's a risk worth taking.
Choosing Gemma over Helly would make no sense logically. He had no real emotional attachment to her. Outtie Mark did. They drove that point home with their camcorder conversation. People assumed the innie was going to go along with the plan not realizing the sacrifice he was being asked to make.
Would you die for the happiness of a stranger?
