KC jones- 8x NBA champion, 2x NCAA champion, Olympic gold medalist. But shouldn’t be in the hall :mjlol:

Everyone you named is either a NBA champion or had an amazing college career,

SO BY THAT CRITERIA THEN ROBERT HORRY N STEVE KERR SHOULD GET IN TOO

KC JONES WAS A ROLE PLAYER WIT CAREER AVERAGES OF 7 POINTS N 3 REBOUNDS

HIS COLLEGE CAREER = 9 POINTS N 5 REBOUNDS

RALPH SAMPSON NEVER WON A CHAMPIONSHIP ON ANY LEVEL AND WAS NO BETTER THAN WEBBER IN COLLEGE OR THE NBA

CALVIN MURPHY NEVER WON AT ANY LEVEL AND PLAYED FOR AN AWFUL UNIVERSITY... ONLY MADE 1 ALL-STAR TEAM IN THE NBA

BILL BRADLEY HAD A GOOD COLLEGE CAREER, BUT ONLY 1 ALL-STAR APPEARANCE IN THE NBA AND 0 TITLES ON ANY LEVEL

THE BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME IS EASY AS HELL TO GET IN AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT

Bill Bradley won two rings on the Knicks and won a title in the EuroLeague before coming to the Knicks. Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Final 4. Also won some Gold Medals in international competition for Team USA. So he actually won at every level.

He was a big deal in his day when he was drafted the OG Great White Hope in basketball too if you ain’t know. Watch the Garden of Eden doc in the 60’s when he was drafted he had a Linsanity buzz for that time and was called “the white Oscar Robertson”. He ended up not living up to it but was a fan favorite and valuable starter/role player on team oriented Knicks squads that won titles.

And Samson is one of the G.O.A.T. college players and unicorns the game has seen his college career better than Webber’s.

You naming players from the 60’s and 70’s when the NBA was a young sport.

While Tim's name is often invoked by many only when it's time to disparge or demean Kobe and his legacy, Tim was entirely too thorough and legit for me to sanction statements like this. Still, I understand why Diesel went so hard, though. He's going in on behalf of his dead brother and the fact that, again, Tim's praise only reaches a crescendo once Kobe is involved, but TD isn't responsible for the pettiness. He deserves more respect than that.

That’s called leadership. Every single player on the Spurs would tell you that Duncan was the anchor and most important player on the Spurs from the day he was drafted until 2014. He was winning and leading that team to a championship his 2nd year in the league and has been the cornerstone.

I don’t get this “he wasn’t carrying the load like other players” but he was winning championships in his second year. He didn’t have a top 5 player as his teammate like Kobe and Shaq did with each other so he was carrying way more than either of them until 2005.

Simply put, he won more rings as the man than either Shaq or Kobe. That wasn’t the system, he turned up in the playoffs and got shyt done on the biggest stages. He made it through the brutal west and matched Prime Shaq and Kobe in the playoffs by himself. He was a Derek Fisher miracle shot from putting the beats on them two years in a row.

Y’all say he had Pop but the Lakers has Phil.

I’m not gonna explain the same shyt and over. I already said TD was a dominant force in 99 and he carried that shyt, but as time went on (primarily the mid-00s to mid-10s) the longevity of that team and the way they reinvented themselves and innovated international drafting is because of Pop. Bringing up Phil is simpleton shyt because with Phil Lakers won their titles in clusters. They 3 peated and then repeated with two different cores and role players. They didn’t have the same core spread out over a 10 years period like the Spurs. That’s a lot of different role players and eras to deal with and Pop made it all work and reinvented on the fly. Tim was a leader no doubt but his leadership isnt the main reason that core had that longevity. Pop could’ve blown it up several times but never did.

Also Phil never had ANYWHERE as much influence on the Lakers personnel decisions as Pop. That’s what you simpletons leave out when you bring up Phil/Lakers. That nikka Pop runs the Spurs the way Belichick runs the Pats. Phil situation with the Lakers was nothing like that.

As far as more titles than Shaq or kobe as “the man” I really don’t give af about that cuz I don’t have TD above Shaq anyway. I just think that TD benefited a lot from that stabilizing culture and environment Pop provided while also innovating on the court and in the draft room.

IF DUNCAN WAS THE SYSTEM, HOW COME THE SPURS WON WHEN HE WAS NO LONGER AN ALL-STAR??
He was playing at all star level in the playoffs when it mattered. He made the all star team the year before and after the 2014 Championship.

I thought he did they gave him MOP tho his college career was decorated overall

Back then the criteria was lower since the sport was young they valued winners and you get extra points for ya college career. NCAA ball meant a lot at one point this way before the one and done era.

@Draje another thing about Shaq and kobe is they both had success outside of Phil. Kobe was 2x Gold medalist while Tim with Larry Brown had the most embarrassing team USA squad ever. Tim scores 10 pts in the semi final while Manu has 29. Tim best game in the Olympics was in the blow out loss to PR. Now obviously Pop had a tough time at the most recent WC but the roster was depleted. Tim was the captain of the 04 team and look what happened where was his leadership there :snoop:if pop was HC then it might go different

Who destabilized the Laker culture around 2004? :comeon:

More simpleton shyt. A lot of people were responsible for that and it’s a discussion for a different thread. It’s been discussed a million times go read a book about it.

Webber was more athletic could shoot and pass i dont see anything duncan did better than him other than resume
Timmy in the clutch >>>>>> Webber in the clutch. Defense is still a part of basketball, and one of these dudes was elite and the other one wasn’t. I used to hate on Timmy but he earned my respect. This thread is just disrespectful.
