In 2004 the Kings went 44-15 with the best offense in the NBA without Chris Webber (ACL tear) whose minutes were replaced with Brad Miller. Peja was 4th in MVP voting that year. Not really evidence of a limited team outside of one superstar as Shaq is suggesting.

Shaq likes to criticize bigs who settle for perimeter offense rather than dominating in the low post. So it's weird that he's so supportive of Webber who took most of his shots from 16 feet out and was never really a physical, strong post up scorer like Duncan.

HIS DEFENSE WAS GOOD ON 2014, BUT HAD DEF FALLEN OFF BY THAT POINT. HIS LATERLY MOVEMENT WAS LACKING COMPARED TO WHAT IT ONCE WAS, AND HE WAS OVERALL SLOWER.

HE WAS GOOD THAT SEASON, NO DOUBT, BUT FARRR FROM THE DUNCAN WE KNEW.....WAS IT ENOUGH TO WIN A CHIP? YES. BUT THAT'S THE POINT.
Was still an elite rim protector giving you 2 blocks and a smart mobile P&R defender was still a deceptively strong low post defender

Was still an All-NBA defender in that era just stop it he wasn’t no role player and not any solid big could have won with those teams :comeon:

:dwillhuh:

DUNCAN WASNT EVEN AN ALL-STAR BY 2014

Duncan was averaging 15,9 and 2 and had gave that work to ibaka, Blake and bosh those past 2 seasons in the playoffs.
He was the anchor of that d and the go to man down the stretch.
None of the young big men in the league could stop Duncan on the block despite him being up in age

Coaching means everything and the Spurs cast is still better

nah cwebb has the better supporting cast
From 97-03 all Duncan had was an aging drob, a young Parker and stack5. Manu wasn’t even a factor yet

bibby was killin, Pena was an all star, class fit that team perfectly, Bobby Jackson was the 6th man of the year, Doug Christie was the wing defender, and they had a young hedo
That team was nice
When it counted Webber couldn’t lock down the paint and shot too many damn jumpers
Duncan would’ve lead those Kings to a chip

You bring up an article from 2013 Duncan already had 4 chips by then including 1 without Parker and manu. That system that you posted wasn’t even how the spurs played when Duncan first got there.

And if anyone’s a system player it’s shaq who only won rings in the triangle or being carried by wade
