What about the opposite question of how far does Orlando and NJ get if you replace TMac and Vince with Kobe?Oh have it your way Josue
2002-2004 playoff stats
Kobe 25.2 pts 5.5 rebs 5.5 assists
Shaq 30 pts 14 rebs 3 assists
The question isn’t if TMac/VC could score 25 pts but if they could consistently do it under playoff pressure. Look at their careers and the answer is a NO.
Flat tops running the old “the actual finals don't matter” narrative![]()

Oh I didn’t realize the Lakers won every title from 99-04.
I thought this was about Shaq 3 peating.
My bad.

The Sixers lost by an average of 6.8 points. The Spurs lost by an average of 20+ points.

The Sixers lost by an average of 6.8 points. The Spurs lost by an average of 20+ points.
They were also within 2 points in the 4th quarter of both games 2 and 3 despite having half their roster on hospital leave.
We saw Iverson vs Kobe and he had Kobe sucking air having to have Tyron Luo come off the bench to guard Iverson after scoring 15 points in game 1.
NOBODY in the league was preparing for Kobe like they were Shaq. Shaq was literally the most dominate player in MBA history at this point. The Spurs lost Derek Anderson AND were triple teaming Shaq.
IF Kobe was so important to the Lakers championships like that why when his usage went up PAST Shaq’s in 2003 and 2004 did they lose?
He was literally the focal point of the Lakers offense in 2003 against the Spurs and they got their ass beat. In 2004 he literally pissed on himself.
Shaq was the same dude he always was. Damn near 70% at the rim. Dominate rebounding. Plus plus on defense.![]()
Phil Jacksok literally called Kobe a uncoachable child and bounced. The notion that Kobe was some mature baller that no guard in the league could match at that time is hilarious.

Lebrons worst performance ever, literally gone down in legend is still better than Kobe’s worst.
And that Mavs team was twice as good as that Pistons team

You’re right.
KOBE MADE 3 STRAIGHT FINALS
AND WON 2 WITHOUT SHAQ.
NO AMOUNT OF dikkSUCKING
WILL ERASE THESE FACTS
Kobe winning 2 without Shaq has no bearing on Shaq's legacy.
Shaq shouldn't even be entertaining these stupid hypotheticals. He was the number one option on the team that won three straight titles. Whether he could win with Vince or Tmac or Ray or what he actually did with Kobe is irrelevant.
He was the undisputed best player in the NBA until Duncan was able to get one in 03.
Any people arguing that Kobe could have won without Shaq in the Early 2000s are fooling themselves. Bryant staged a mutiny in the 2004 finals taking over the offense and couldn't deliver for the LA Lakers. He was not ready to compete at that level.

Kobe vs Spurs 2003
Shaq 3 finals MVPs
Kobe 2 finals MVPs
Shaq 1 sidekick ring. Kobe 3 sidekick rings.
No amount of Maga Mamba historical revisionism and lying is going to change that.
I was there. Nobody thought Kobe was better than Shaq. NOBODY.
