I did quantify how I am defining "Peak". Please read again. If you want to disagree with my definition, that's fine. If you want to ignore it and present your own definition, that's fine. But I'm not arguing his defensive abilities.

Let me try to summarize as follows: Shaq was the most efficient offensive weapon I've ever seen, and I believe his offensive efficiency and utility exceeds that of other great centers.

PS: Duncan's a PF.
PPS: Duncan never shut down SHaq either.
PPPS: Kobe sucked in 99

Well there is more to the game than offense and how is does his efficiency and utility exceed other centers when other guys scored as many or more points and shot comparable or superior percentages and he was a liablity due to his FT issues?

Never said Duncan shut him down but he gave him that work and led his underdog Spurs to a fukking 4 game sweep over his Lakers. That's some Wilt shyt and I don't mean that in a good way.

You takin Mario Elie or Jaron Jackson over Kobe at that point? :usure:

I've got Wilt and Kareem over him most definitely but after that it is debatable. I could see Dream going ahead of him but im not sure about putting Bill Russell ahead of Shaq on my top five list.

:rudy:

Let's compare their primes:ufdup:

Hakeem's from 1987-1996 (10 years) averaged: 24.6 ppg, 12.4 rpg, 3.7 bpg, and 2.0 spg

Shaq's from 1994-2003 (10 years) averaged: 27.9 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 2.5 bpg, and 0.6 spg

Only thing Shaq was better at was scoring:camby:
And winning titles and dominating the NBA Finals with unseen levels of supremacy. Had Iverson, the MVP of 2001, admitting defeat after the 2nd game of a 7 game Finals. Unheard of.

So the nikka who never avg. 30 or 15 is gonna double those numbers up in Russell's era? :comeon:

Shaq was physical freak like Wilt and had stacked teams like Russell and still only managed 2 scoring titles, no rebounding titles, and 4 championships. Stop it.
Russell didn't have to play with Jordan for 6 years, the greatest ever, though. And Wilt was dominant but he was dominant because there was no Shaq. The league has never seen anyone like Shaq. Every time they poll who u want to start a team with, Shaq wins that poll year after year over Jordan, Wilt, LeBron, Hakeem, Kobe. It's not even close. Lol@someone bringing up the Spurs..they got crushed 3 years straight.

Oh, you mean the game when Shaq had 28 points, 20 rebounds, 9 assists, 8 blocks, and 1 steal..........PLUS had Kobe put up 31 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in the same game:mjpls:

Hakeem never had that type of help alongside him:camby:

How about this, during their 10 year primes (87-96 for Hakeem and 94-03 for Shaq):

Hakeem won 2 NBA Finals, was 2x NBA Finals MVP, 1x NBA MVP, 2x Defensiver Player of the Year, 9x member of the All-NBA Team, and 8x member of All-Defensive Team

Shaq won 3 NBA Finals, was 3x NBA Finals MVP, 1x NBA MVP, 10x member of the All-NBA Team and was a 3x member of the All-Defensive Team

Hakeem is great but is he as great as Shaq's best? Of course not. His titles are paper titles because Jordan left after his father was murdered. SO he had a real lucky break for awhile.

Kobe was a good side flip to Shaq but Kobe could have those numbers all day long with anyone else and he would of failed had he not been under Shaq's umbrella. U post those cute smilies but that's never gonna change. Shaq is a more elite champion than Hakeem in history. He looked good against a Shaq 2 years in the league....lol.

Shaq was 1-1 in one in the playoffs against Jordan. It was the likes of Indiana, Houston, Utah, SA, Detroit, Chicago (07) that stood in his way, not Mike. And many of those series he had the edge in talent and in many of those series he got swept. So there are no pleas to cop for the most dominant ever only winning 2 scoring titles or only winning 4 rings with the likes of Penny, Kobe, and Wade by his side.

People are enamored by his potential and indeed his potential is greater than any player we have seen. However his actual production is another story.

The Spurs got crushed 2 years straight and what do you expect when you have Shaq/Kobe going up against Duncan and...?

Like I said before he didn't dominate his era until everybody got :flabbynsick: and he had a life sized replica of Mike in his backcourt. So what basis is there to believe he would dominate any other era like you and others are suggesting?

Thanks to Kobe.....which Olajuwon, or even Tim Duncan, never had a Kobe alongside of him like Shaq did:ufdup:

2001 series against the Spurs. Kobe averaged 33.3 ppg while Shaq averaged 27.0 ppg
2002 series against the Spurs, Kobe averaged 26.2 ppg while Shaq averaged 21.4 ppg
2003 series against the Spurs, Kobe averaged 32.3 ppg while Shaq averaged 25.3 ppg
2004 series against the Spurs, Kobe averaged 26.3 ppg while Shaq averaged 22.5 ppg

Shaq played with the 2nd best SG ever behind Jordan.........in his prime. That greatly benefited Shaq, who then went on to be carried to his 4th title by the 3RD GREATEST SG OF ALL-TIME IN HIS PRIME AS WELL, Dwyane Wade:dead:

nikkas really tried to say Bill Russel Is Better Than Shaq lol

If Bill Russell Was playing today he would be no better than Ben Wallace

nikka might even be on the level Of Dejuan Blair

lol to be 100% honest he might be lower than that

nikka might of been Reggie Evans

its just funny when i hear ppl give them such high regards

:dahell:
Look at this blatant disrespect for the greatest champion in sports history. There is no real way to say how anyone who played in the a different era would fare in today's game, so stop with this nonsense and show some respect for one of the greatest ever. :camby:

What are u telling me I don't already know except a fake perception and belief that Hakeem at his best would hold up against Shaq when he became practically unstoppable.

The basis is this.....those other eras didn't have Shaq. He had to deal with the greatest ever....they did not. It's all timing and Shaq would of bulldozed Wilt, Russel, and Kareem. Come on..get real.
