That's why first dates should be minimal.
Take her for coffee + go for a walk. If you're feeling her by that point and want to go on a second date, drop some money (if you're the one asking). Same thing for a third date. By then you two have spent an adequate amount of time together to know if you want to continue pursuing each other's company, and she should spend money taking you out by that point as well.
I like the 50/50 approach by this point, but I hate the concept of splitting bills. When I say 50/50 I mean taking turns with who is paying: this week me, next week you, etc. That pattern should continue throughout the relationship.

It depends. If ya'll both got money then it's cool. But when a girl paying because the dude is broke, then I find a problem with that. Not so much when the girl is broke cause the man is suppose to be able to handle it. Because I'm somewhat stubborn I wouldn't let a girl pay for it. I like to spoil.

Theres this guy I was feeling. lol. He kept flirting w/ me when he'd see me around. Women will take you out and spend money on you if they are feeling you. Yall just gotta learn to read women better so not to waste your time and money on a chick that's not really into you. As a man you should always be in control of the relationship. She should be the one pursuing you. If not step your game up. I believe the initiator of the date should offer to pay. Usually that's going to be the man. Gender doesn't necessarily have to play into it. Relationships are obviously different.
