I'm curious why people think this way. This will fukk over the little people. Americans in general need much more generous time off. I was reading a Reddit thread where people in other countries were stunned Americans get anything less than 5 weeks off a year. People are lucky to get 2 weeks. And you have to stay YEARS with a company to be seeing 5 weeks. Sickening.

Bro we are talking about paying you sick time off while you work at home in your pajamas, not vacation time. Two whole different arguments.

I remember a dude had a heart attack and died in the call center. On his day off coming in to pick up his check. They didn’t have a moment of silence or anything. These corporations don’t give two shyts about you. It might be different with small businesses though.

If I'm sick sick then I ain't doing shyt. If I'm just a Lil sick I'll check email and respond but won't be at the computer all day.

I come out ahead anyway because if my workload is low I straight up don't do anything some days. I be playing video games.

There have been studies done that people actually take less time off when they have unlimited PTO. In addition, companies don't have to pay out unused PTO if/when you leave the organization.

Unlimited Paid Time Off Is a Deceptive Ploy in Today’s Workplace | Workforce.com

Work for an organization that doesnt care about well being of their employees, brehs.

My company has unlimted PTO (paying people out for unused vacation days at tech firm salaries is dumb)
My company also schedules a day during (Monday or Friday) each month where no one is working.

That reminds me, I have a $750 wellness allowance that I need to use before end of the year.

Unlimited PTO for me.

most companies that offer unlimited PTO, the people take less PTO than employers that have a set amount of PTO.

also, when u have unlimited PTO, if you switch jobs, you cannot cash it in when you leave like a conventional job where that PTO is viewed as an asset on the books.

yeah at my old job we had unlimited PTO and opportunities to work from home...didn't really take advantage of either at the time.

it is for the reason I explained above.
I agree, at my current job I have taken less PTO then when i had my old jobs. problem with unlimited PTO is unless you work at a place where people are actually using it you wont be able to really use it's potential.
Luckily for me next year will be my last year at this job so im going all out with the PTO
