It's a fact that a more serious approach to the game would be more than welcome. Some level of seriousness. Anecdotes and jokes are fun, but as decoration. But all this goes to the NBA's desire to cater to casuals, they themselves have been diluting the game in general in various aspects. Also we really don't need in-game interviews of player and coaches. That's not the time.

Breh, in the NFL they will highlight a pulling guard, slow everything down, and show you how that block opened the hole for a touchdown. They don’t break down anything during an NBA broadcast anymore.
I got you. I thought you were talking about the average fan discussing games. And yeah that's where football being less action packed and having 35-45 seconds per play. Gives them a lot more downtime to explain.

I'll also add The Lowe Post, and I gotta check out Tim Legler's podcast I heard it's nice. If Silver is serious about this he'd put action to it instead of making headlines without doing anything about it. ESPN has segments talking about "Who's the Batman on this team?" and "What will this do for so and so's legacy?" Take action, there's a myriad of guys talking about X's and O's, they just gotta be put front and center for it to matter like Silver wants it to, which he has the power to do.

I disagree with this. I think the NFL is a way more complex game than NBA and that 99% of fans have no clue what's actually happening on the field. I think the NBA is easier to grasp simply because you have five guys on the court for each team and you see what everybody is doing on every play for the most part. It's the nuances of the game the fans don't pick up.

What I'd love to see is that instead of just replaying the dunks or flashy passes, replay Steph coming off a screen and show the footwork that goes in to it. Show how Harden is manipulating the gather rule to get his step back off. Show the body position, footwork, and leverage Jokic is using to back defenders down into the paint without drawing offensive fouls and those nuances get picked up even easier.
NFL fans are football dumb as fukk. They love low hanging fruit to attack when the game and reasons for failure gets too complex :heh:

But they are loyal as hell to their teams and are open to being taught

I've been watching basketball most of my life but I've never played organized hoops. I would love to see the games broke down like they use to do with that NFL show on ESPN. I forgot the name. It got cancelled of course because people would rather watch hot take debate shows.

Fortunately we have YouTube and people have channels they really go in depth and explain shyt.

Once TNT's Inside The NBA starting winning Emmy's and awards for basically talking sh*t and talking bad on current players it was a wrap for trying to get in-depth commentary and analysis from these broadcast teams. SAS getting on air mad about having to go to a certain cities because their nightlife ain't poppin. Its their own doing
