Let's be real, how many folks actually tuning in for that? It ain't like Jaworksi diagramming plays on a weekly show and as popular as that was, it even got the axe.

Finally somebody said it,unless its a woman with a fat ass breaking down plays on a big screen, nobody is tuning in for that. Has anybody ever tuned in for that as basketball fans? Was NBA media even really thought of before Inside The NBA on TNT. NBA media basically follows that blueprint, becauase it is the blueprint.

If thats the best he got,and he thinks that will somehow enhance the game,he shouldnt be commissiner. And if you need a smoking gun to get him outta that position#CheckTheComputers:scust:

There's no good reason why ESPN, or ESPN Plus at the very least, doesn't have a biweekly film breakdown show. Plenty of folks over there would be qualified to host it.
They have/had a series called "Detail" which was hosted by Kobe Bryant initially.

Adam Silver is calling out ESPN mainly in his comments to JJ. Yeah, it also applies to TNT especially Shaq being a casual and Barkley admitting he doesn't watch games/shids on the product. But with Disney, they're the largest partner, they have the NBA Finals on ABC, they have a daily studio show on ESPN with NBA Today, and they rarely break down the game!

They went all in on transaction/trade culture, the Woj bombs, and the palace intrigue of the select few star studded teams or large market franchises.

Also, ESPN favors selling ads during their telecasts so they have a pregame show that's devoid of any substance. They also don't have a halftime show because its 13 minutes of commercials and 90 seconds of 'analysis'. Atleast on TNT, they have a halftime show that's 6-7 minutes long and Kenny runs to the board spending a minute breaking down film.

If I was Silver, I'd be demanding changes in the next TV deal. I'd also be searching for partners who can grow the actual game.

In the ESPN's defense, the NBA did allow that to happen.

The NBA wanted to be like the NFL and talked year around so bad, that they allowed their TV partners to dilute their product. Even know they're still trying to do so by making the draft 2 nights even while knowing the content isn't there to do so.

Is it ESPNS job to sell the NBA or just the games they are airing on their network? The NFL is actually still exiting, drama filled, passionate fanbases. The NFL is what the NBA used to be,where the matchups and the game sold itself. Where cities rallied behind teams, because they knew the player was interested in building something in the city they were drafted in. Where entire cities hated a player, and a player hated their city. Where entire cities hated other cities, due to rivalries. Where players and teams took on the culture of the city,in how their team looked, acted and played. This is the essence of basketball not a X and O.

:hubie: the :ahh: of the analysts

I really thought Doc would be the one to bring some real insight being that he's fresh off the bench but he doesn't say anything that's Doris doesn't say (and that's no compliment)
