If you use Jay and Nas and that battle, as an example. The sh*t they said about each other, away from their opinions and the jokes, was ALL true. Jay really was 36 training with Billy Blanks, who was really teaching people karate and martial arts back then. Jay really did show Nas his first tech on tour, with Large Professor there. He also really f*cked Nas’s baby moms. And the sh*t Nas was saying about Jay was all true too. About how he had his number but Nas didn’t give it to him. Everything.

So yeah, you’re supposed to be factual if you’re gonna say sh*t, in battles. No gossipy sh*t, but sh*t that other people can come out and verify.

Prodigy never said he was in ballet class. Jay got that from a third party (Ashanti), but it was real and Hov had pics. That’s how it’s supposed to go. You’re either spitting facts, or saying funny sh*t to make the listener laugh at the person you’re going at. But you don’t just make up sh*t and don’t show proof, just because you’re trying to distract from what was said about you or trying to just have anything to say.
