I don't know what's hard to understand about the data. What white women are yall around that are having kids while not being married. The data is specific to having kids without being married (divorced women not included). Black people love to deflect data when it doesn't benefit them even when we know there is an issue. Who gives a shyt what white women are doing anyway. This forum is GMBs all day but now we are surprised by the percentage of black single moms never married??

I was under the assumption gmb implied not getting married, or having b*stard kids.





It defeats the purpose of being free in gmb, only to shackle yourself to child support. Might as well have just gotten married and been a family man since its cheaper

My thing is that I don't wanna hear any complaining about why ppl are single parents. Don't wanna hear about the struggles of finding mates as a single parent.

Should have thought about that before becoming a parent. There are no guarantees for anyone to find a lifetime partner. If one does find one, then try to stay with said person. If that isn't possible, then keep trying until another one comes along or accept one's fate and live life alone.

I wish this were taught in schools.

It would eliminate the variability of child outcomes between good black parents vs bad black parents if all students were taught this uniformly in junior or senior year of highschool.

Shaming parents into having this convo has been a failing strategy over the last 30 years.

There’s approximately 100 million White women in the US and 20 million Black women.

14 percent of 100 million = ~14 million
47 percent of 20 million = ~10 million

The numbers are literally saying there’s more White single moms than Black ones.

Schools are there to teach how to read, write, math and other subjects.

When it comes to life skills, parents are responsible. Culture should also be taught at home.

Man, I want Blk ppl to be happy and have strong families, but I also believe that each Blk person has the right to self determination. If a man or woman wanna impose high standards, then cool.

Just understand that those standards doesn't have to be met by others. So, accept the outcomes of having choice and understand that others have the same rights and choices.

Then this is a discussion that is flawed. Two people living in the same household and raising children are more likely to be married than not.

You can’t discipline your way out of that. The white boy is seen as the leader of our community in the eyes of too many black women.

When Black Americans did “discipline“ themselves and create successful communities they were burned down and freeways that ran through their business districts, friends.

When my Grandad had to fire his shotgun to keep the klan from burning a cross in his yard my grandmother NEVER thought a white man was a leader in her community.

When our leaders were getting shot dead, beat, tortured, and strung up on a regular basis our women NEVER thought a cac was a leader in our community.

Our women marry us at high rate than we marry them, but cacs are the leaders perceived as leaders in our communities?

I can buy the white woman number on pure math/demographics. There are way more white women in this country than any other woman demographic so 14% of a big number = a lot of single mothers.
