SAS had burned bridges at ESPN, was offered a pay cut and decided to leave. Except he didn't move on to bigger and better things but instead had to resort to trying to become a political commentator, mostly appearing on Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly shows
While Skip is obviously an egotistical dirtbag he looks out for his people, as evidenced by Rob Parker still having a media career. Obviously Skip recognized that having SAS on regularly would be mutually beneficial and wasn't doing it out of kindness of his heart, but he did give him a lifeline back into ESPN.

The show was soooo much better back then. That first era after Cold Pizza with Jay and Dana as moderators and that cast of analysts and guests coming in with that era of sports. shyt was good. SAS only came because ESPN had let go of a lot of talent and he was good enough to fill the shoes with foolishness himself. First Take was ALREADY #1 before SAS. Him trying to act like he made it a hot song is the most superfluous of cap.Lmao u see wat skip said? He just went 1st take on that nikka he pulled out the stats

Skip is chin checking Stephen A because he is trying to make himself more important than he actually was. It was skip bayless and Tebow mania that skip trolled into the spotlight that took the show to the top spot. Not skip struggling with different co host and then him and Stephen A joining forces and then going to the top spot. Skip basically saying Stephen A came along for the ride. Got to be honest Stephen A was sort of shading othrt guest host like the 2 live stews Jamelle hill rob Parker and Jalen rose. Personally imo the best ones opposite of skip were Jalen rose and the 2 live stews. Jalen rose ended that chapter when he put out skip bayless basketball stats. Rob Parker deaded his shot when he called Robert Griffen a corny ass dude. I don't know why the 2 live stews didn't work out but I feel them permanently on would have had the same magic.
Skip been trying to get that podcast to pop for months. He's tried to bait Charles Barkley to appear to no avail. Now he's trying to bait SAS by calling him out on a story that SAS has been telling for years. Although FT always beats Undisputed, I also think Skip don't like that FT finally seems to have some juice with the new format.
