Stephen A ego has went to a whole notha stratosphere. Dude think that first take show is all him. He's lucky to be on ESPN. They get views by default.

I wonder what percentage of the gyms, restaurants, etc. even have FS1 airing as opposed ESPN in the morning because every gym in the morning I've been to is always ESPN.

Skip is chin checking Stephen A because he is trying to make himself more important than he actually was. It was skip bayless and Tebow mania that skip trolled into the spotlight that took the show to the top spot. Not skip struggling with different co host and then him and Stephen A joining forces and then going to the top spot. Skip basically saying Stephen A came along for the ride. Got to be honest Stephen A was sort of shading othrt guest host like the 2 live stews Jamelle hill rob Parker and Jalen rose. Personally imo the best ones opposite of skip were Jalen rose and the 2 live stews. Jalen rose ended that chapter when he put out skip bayless basketball stats. Rob Parker deaded his shot when he called Robert Griffen a corny ass dude. I don't know why the 2 live stews didn't work out but I feel them permanently on would have had the same magic.

It was the episode when Ryan called Skip foolish. When they came back from commercial Skip was real serious and told both of them he doesn't appreciate being called foolish, and that was the last we ever saw of them on FT.

Skip been trying to get that podcast to pop for months. He's tried to bait Charles Barkley to appear to no avail. Now he's trying to bait SAS by calling him out on a story that SAS has been telling for years. Although FT always beats Undisputed, I also think Skip don't like that FT finally seems to have some juice with the new format.

He has all the numbers to brag about his time at ESPN, but outside of his fat contract his numbers at FS1 are laughable. You can tell he feels a certain way about his podcast flopping hard, because he's realizing that no one wants to hear him speak solo.

The show was soooo much better back then. That first era after Cold Pizza with Jay and Dana as moderators and that cast of analysts and guests coming in with that era of sports. shyt was good. SAS only came because ESPN had let go of a lot of talent and he was good enough to fill the shoes with foolishness himself. First Take was ALREADY #1 before SAS. Him trying to act like he made it a hot song is the most superfluous of cap.

That's why I find it cringe worthy til this day every time I hear Stephen A call FT "his show."I'm not taking anything away from his contributions but I still feel some kinda way about how he did Max. I'll admit I do enjoy the dynamic him and Doggie have every Wednesday. If he can keep having former players, such as JJ Redikk and CJ McCollum coming on to apply that pressure, I may have to start DVRing that jawn every day again. I'll say this from my recollection.

SAS was an occasional guest who clearly had the spark. Then he became a weekly guest, then it was obvious he had the energy and personality to make that show watchable everyday. At that point he came on and it took off.

Skip arguing with Rob Parker and those other guys just didn't hit the same. Even now, Shannon is playing the role of Stephen A.

If skip loses either Shannon or Stephen A it's over for his shows

Seem like SAS was giving Skip props and that both their stories are correct. Yeah maybe the ratings peak was one episode after MNF in 2011 but he a lie if he trying to pretend FT didn't become ESPN's dominant show and a cultural phenomenon when SAS came on board.

Both things can be true. He can credit Skip for giving him a shot and for being a pioneer while also saying that him being added to the show took it to another level. It didn't sound like Stephen A was shytting on Skip at all or taking credit away from him at all.
