If they putting the best music out why does nobody have longevity?

Why are they never getting pushed instead of the annual strip club ringer though? I want to believe a city that Black is producing some solid hip hop artists.

Gucci, Jeezy, and Future been around for a LOOONG time. Even the new ATL, Migos, Thug, etc been pretty consistent in the mainstream for some years now

Pretty much this. Gucci, Jeezy, and Future have had way more influence than Kast has had on Atlanta.

Even Before the 2000's Atlanta rap was about dance songs and pimps/player raps.... people love to create this Narrative that Atlanta rap started with Outkast, and that all music from Atlanta was Outkast/Dungeon Family sounding...when that's never been the case.

Drake has been riding the wave of ATL's hottest rappers for a good 4 years now.

The entire Chiraq drill sound was birthed by Waka/808 Mafia.

All these guys harmonizing over trap beats are doing their best Future rendition. (Fetty Wap,Travis Scott etc..)

Damn near every mainstream rapper in the past 2 years has used the Migos triplet flow (I know they didn't invent it..but they made it pop again)

Three of biggest spring/summer songs this year are from Thug, Rich Homie and Migos. (Check,Flex,One Time)

I could go on..but the main point is...record sales mean little when it comes to ATL's run...their influence is undeniable in the past decade.
