This is basically what Trump and Republicans are doing right now, testing the Democrats' moral compass, skew whatever bit of public perception on the Democratic side, and seeing if they will succumb their need (or should I say leverage) to save the people from hunger or watch them suffer even tho this isn't their fault but some people will unfortunately feel a bit slighted towards them and their decision to stand pat.

Conservatism is a selfish ideology. It is built on a core belief that bad things happen to other people and its their own fault when it happens.

When they cant work and cant afford to eat, they have two choices:

1. Go to a local non profit who will provide that aid since the government assistance programs they called socialism and a waste of money are now gone.

2. Starve to death/turn to crime and get used to seeing white mugshots on the news several times more than they'd see a black mugshot.

They truly believe that black people and immigrants get all kinds of special treatment and we are all living wonderful lives and if someone lightly criticizes us then we just have to call them a racist and that person's entire life is ruined. They believe that we are living high off the hog on government benefits because we are lazy and don't want to work. They dont believe that THEY will be victims of corporate restructuring. They dont believe that THEY will ever need public housing or food aid. They believe thats for OTHER people and not them.

So then when shyt hits the fan and they rely on local non government, non profit organizations to survive, they will actually be face to face with the people theyve been told were lazy and gamed the system or are mentally deranged and want to turn their kids gay and force them to say "they/them" and do land acknowledgments at gunpoint. They will realize that by actually talking to normal people how fukking crazy they sound and begin to realize that the reason they aren't dead is because of the same mutual aid they consider communism or liberal bullshyt. Nobody is forcing them to the soup kitchens, they can choose to beg trump to save them and see how that goes. They can also take their chances at trying to live on the street since a core part of conservative belief is that homelessness is a personal problem and those people on the street are once again, too lazy to work. They'll see for themselves how easy it is to bounce back from being homeless in america.
