so 3.9 yards per rush makes you a HOF these days?

For 3 years w/ sorry ass Kordell playing at his worst, Bettis was the engine for the offense. How many power backs last as long has he did? Someone mentioned Eddie George, but he burned out (blame that on Fisher using up his body).

Reason guys like Tim Brown and Bettis have problems getting into the HoF is because of all the stat geeking fantasy football analytics clowns who probably don't even watch the games just the stats lines.

And this run was during his LAST YEAR. So all that talk of him just hanging on his last three or four years was garbage. He beasted over a good CHI defense that game. Over 100 yards in shytty weather and ran Urlacher the fukk over.:yeshrug:

As far as Eddie George. . .Dude was a beast too. :wow: Never forget him choke slamming Ray Lewis. . I was :ohhh:

As a dude who can't stand the Steelers, I have to say that Jerome Bettis is definitely a Hall of Famer. Dude was first-team All-Pro as a rookie. Several pro bowls, three-time All-Pro, Super Bowl ring, sixth all-time in yards gained and will probably go down as arguably the most effective short-yardage back to ever line up in the backfield. One of the last true power backs we'll ever see outside of Marshawn Lynch.

Also, for a dude that always got the ball, he only led the league in carries ONCE in his career. So the buku attempts argument can go to the bushes. Curtis Martin had more attempts than the Bus did, and the Bus played two years longer. This argument should have ended with @3Rivers Bettis smilie but whatever. :manny:

Now, I want to know when Roger Craig is gonna get into the Hall of Fame.

But those stats don't lie. What else should we go by? How the player made you feel? "leadership"? There's numerous backs with on par as Bettis that didn't hang on at the end nearly as bad. What's the diff between Jerome Bettis and Steven Jackson aside from the Steeler logo on the helmet?

Sounds like you a 49ers fan..... Good post, but I hate to break it to ya, they aint putting Craig in until he's dead.......:francis:

Nah, nothing like that (Bengals fan). I've been watching a lot of his old footage and all that and have grown to appreciate him. He was prime Tomlinson/Marshall Faulk/Matt Forte before they even came onto the scene. Underrated player who killed teams in several ways on a dynasty of a team.

He was a really good football player, but I wanna say he only had a 5-6 year run where he was doing his thing.... I could be wrong..
