Not ascertaining the credibleness of the claim but what incentive does Mtume have to discredit Biggie when his name is affiliated with one of the greatest hip hop acts of all time?
Old school artists give zero fukks about how acclaimed rappers are man. :mjlol:

Some show love (Bob James, George Clinton) but they aren't obligated. They have their own careers and fan bases and legacies, shytting on a rapper ain't gonna affect them one way or another.

Man what are you talking about?

Multiple rappers used the same samples. "Atomic Dog" got wore the fukk out. P funk in general.

Same with James Brown and Bob James.

Matter of fact....Keith Murray, UGK, Da Brat, Common Sense, and BIG all used "Between The Sheets".

Fred.
The Gap band's Yearning for your love and Cameo's Candy are two other tracks everyone and they mama sampled.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
No it wasn’t. Everyone had their own style and sound.

The problem back then is everything ran through New York. There are a ton of down south artists that you never heard of because they couldn’t get radio play in New York.

But like Jay Electronica said on Exhibit C, New York rappers jacked a lot from the South.

It is what it is.
Jay electronica raps like an east coast rapper.

Man shut yo ass up using him as a reference

I'll believe this over folks saying big jacked his flow from MC Thick from New Orleans :mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol:

He took Mia X whole style and persona, how she rapped and gave it to Lil Kim

It was a fact that Biggie heard Mia X tape The Big Payback and she said that he told her that he was going to do something with it

see this is the bullshyt about these type of revisionist history stories

the fact of the matter is Pete Rock from day fukking one has always said he created the song juicy for biggie and puff stole it from him and allowed Trackmasters to produce this song which made his relationship with puff rocky due to Rock being Heavy D’s first cousin and Heavy D being one of puffs closest friends and all of them being from Mount Vernon

with that said …. defeats the purpose of this new story by this Notorious B1 character

I was about to say this. I swear I heard it was Pete Rock that puff took it from. Glad to see the evidence to back it up.
