The WR room is flawed. They got 3 receivers that look kind of the same. Deep threats that are undersized that struggle when facing corners that can press them at the line of scrimmage. They have a WR room with a bunch of 2 and 3’s. No legit #1. On top of that Mahomes is a trash pocket passer

With a QB the level of Mahomes, you can win with a group of WR2/3 if they all have clearly defined roles in an offense that tailors to their specific strengths. I don't think KC did enough work to create that structure within an offense that rarely fails.

For a long while now, the crux of KC's offense has been improvisation with Mahomes and Kelce (whose back-breaking plays always came in a situation where he was just "getting open" as opposed to routing somebody up), and it is catching up to them. At the end of the day, teams need an identity. KC's identity can no longer be "We can do whatever because we have a cheat code QB whose greatness shows when everything breaks down".

For what it's worth, I think Rice is a low-end WR1 but last night he was up against an elite defense that had him shook when it mattered after Pitre hit him with the Kamehameha Wave.

You think its gonna be bidding war for Pitts?

I assumed he’d have to sign a 1 year prove it deal
I think it depends more on what teams show interest in him. I could see him settling for a 1 year prove it deal. But I can also see a handful of teams throwing money at him and some team overpaying.

the WR room is flawed because of coaching. throughout this dynasty the Chiefs have flipped the WR room 2 or 3 times and ended up back in the same position. Nobody can appear to catch and nobody can appear to get separation. The constant has been coaching. WRs come here and get worse. The only person you could argue got better is Thornton.

Mahomes should be fine with this room or WRs. What it is at this point is coaching. From Nagy on down. There's need to be a whole new philosophy/program installed this upcoming offseason.

I don't know why people are talking about deep threats and all that when the league had already adjusted to that style of play when Mahomes still had prime Tyreek. Tyreek's last season in KC was a lot of underneath/YAC shyt. And the nikka had a drops issue. That season literally ended with the ball bouncing off Tyreek's hands into the hands of a Bengals player.

point being, the Chiefs have turned over roster spots, now they need to clean out the coaching offices now.
I dont understand how after a great offensive season in 22 and 3 SB appearances and a win AND the mess he made in MIA and yeah what happened against Cincy that no one remembers how people are still talking about Tyreek. Just shows how caught up on names people are. The offense been struggling since Beinemy left and nobody is connecting those dots though.

Unless Andy Reid can create a “Mahomes system” that isn’t mostly improvisation, the dynasty may be done.

Mahomes has made his living off of improvisation and broken plays. Now that he’s older and slower, he is going to have to prove that he play QB within the pocket. He’s never struck me as a great pocket passer so unless he’s been hiding that skill, it’s going to get very interesting as he ages into his 30s.

I dont know where this pocket talk is coming from. He came out the gate dealing at a historic level from the pocket in an actual offense. We have seen the running around the most when the team has been at its worst...out if necessity. Mahomes has carried and masked subpar coaching with his improvisation the last 3 years. They run an actual offense, not "Pat'll do it", and he should be just fine in his 30s.
