True. I feel you can learn the latter, though.

But yeah, they need to get a RB that can be an offensive centerpiece type of player, and commit to using him as such.
I disagree. It's something you either can do or can't do.

How many RBs can you think of that became good receivers when they weren't one?

Adrian Peterson and Derrick Henry, 2 of the most notable running backs of the last 20 years never developed that skill.

Yikes then 🤢
They don't have to have a superstar WR. Of course it would be wonderful but there is a Salary Cap unfortunately

If they can find him in the draft and have him on a rookie scale contract then that would be perfect

They need to have some incredible drafts moving forward

LaDainian Tomlinson had 39 catches in 4 years at Texas Christian. You saw what he was in the NFL. He learned the skills because Marshall Faulk helped him during the offseasons (Faulk is/was a San Diego resident).

Roger Craig is one of the best pass-catching RBs of all time. He wasn't that at Nebraska. He learned that skill because he found out Bill Walsh and the Niners were interested in him, and he learned that their offense required a RB who could catch.

You can develop the skill if you want to grow your game, or if a new offensive shift requires it. You just have to do the work. Sometimes, being a good receiver back merely comes down to opportunity and consistently catching the ball when it is thrown to you. The route-running aspect takes it to another level.

It may come more naturally to some players than others, but developing into a competent or better receiving option out of the backfield requires lab work more than anything.

Also, AP and Henry are two of the most dominating running backs of all time, and they were that without having to catch passes at the rate of their peers. If the situation required that of them, they probably would have learned it.

Kelce is done and so Mahomes no longer has his security blanket. That's the biggest difference imo. They can't convert key 3rd downs or make any big plays because they don't have anyone as good as Prime Kelce or Tyreek. Rice ain't it, Worthy ain't it.

Prime Kelce would have been open for those 4th down plays.

The Chiefs need a Julian Edelman Badly, those scrappy 3rd and short and 4th down guys who always get open will prolong a dynasty.

Breh got popped earlier in the game and was shook on 4th down.

That was Kelce for the longest time. Rice is supposed to be the next guy up but he's about as clutch as Wes Welker :skip:

oh and this special teams coach can get the fukk outta here. Dave Toub gets by because the unit makes one play here or there, or when Butker was lights out, but our special teams unit been garbage overall for years.

They don't need to trade for any Recievers. They need a new OC and receivers coach.
A bunch of other position coaches need to be gone too.
We 100% need to clear out the RB room. I love Kareem but he's old. I wouldn't be mad if he stayed as the 3rd back.
The WR room is flawed. They got 3 receivers that look kind of the same. Deep threats that are undersized that struggle when facing corners that can press them at the line of scrimmage. They have a WR room with a bunch of 2 and 3’s. No legit #1. On top of that Mahomes is a trash pocket passer

Having two generational talents in Tyreek and Kelce was a cheat code.

Amazing how much the offense has struggled the last few years when you think of how there offense was pretty much a video game before that
Offense didnt miss a beat the year after Tyreek was traded. Beimeny was the bigger loss. Penalties and overall lack of discipline and consistency and creativity is a coaching issue. They have more talent this year than they did in 22 but it still far too often devovled into "Pat...do somethin".

the WR room is flawed because of coaching. throughout this dynasty the Chiefs have flipped the WR room 2 or 3 times and ended up back in the same position. Nobody can appear to catch and nobody can appear to get separation. The constant has been coaching. WRs come here and get worse. The only person you could argue got better is Thornton.

Mahomes should be fine with this room or WRs. What it is at this point is coaching. From Nagy on down. There's need to be a whole new philosophy/program installed this upcoming offseason.

I don't know why people are talking about deep threats and all that when the league had already adjusted to that style of play when Mahomes still had prime Tyreek. Tyreek's last season in KC was a lot of underneath/YAC shyt. And the nikka had a drops issue. That season literally ended with the ball bouncing off Tyreek's hands into the hands of a Bengals player.

point being, the Chiefs have turned over roster spots, now they need to clean out the coaching offices now.
