Nah that Fordham/Kingsbridge area been Dominican since the 90's, shyt is basically connected to Inwood and that whole 207 and Dyckman area that's mad Dominican. There's less Ricans I agree with y'all there, but they still out in heavy numbers.

Where I have noticed more Dominicans is in the South Bronx and Harlem, I wouldn't say they outnumber Ricans in any of those two areas tho.

Ricans still the biggest Latino immigrant group in the city. Dominicans don't be in Brooklyn and Queens like that. I looked up the numbers there's 1.1 million Ricans in the NY Metro and 835,000 Dominicans. Within the city limits there's 723,000 Ricans and 576,000 Dominicans.

MAYBE you'll find Dominicans in Bushwick (a couple around Ridgewood by the QB/BK Border), and in Queens, definitely in Jackson Heights, Corona and Elmhurst (my lone connection to Queens was my aunt who lived out in Roosevelt /Benham Street). Other than that, we don't fukk with this city outside of the BX and Uptown.

I'm just glad my fam hopped on that Kingsbridge wave early and moved out there in '97 before everyone else caught on heavy. Before there was a cut off kind between Washington Heights and everywhere else (except for the area by the bridges). Now 207th Street up to 230th might as well be an extension of the Heights

No city like NY

The subway rides had me :ohhh:

Rush hour in the mornings are straight comedy. Black and hispanic people, we got nothing on white people fighting each other for seats in crowded trains. Something about a seat in between two fat people gets the rage in them going.
Not from Queens but my pops is Jamaican and we did that in our house :ohhh:

and all his Jamaican friends did that too :ohhh:

never knew that was a Jamaican thing:ohhh:

Bashment parties. That's a Caribbean thing. Pretty much everyone that grew up and partied in Brooklyn, and the cats I chilled with in Jamaica/Rosedale Queens were up on it. This is why for me house parties>>>>>>>>>clubs.

Welcome to NYC breh:salute:

As a Bed-Stuy representative, I'd recommend the Bed-Stuy Fish Fry if you happen to be in the neighborhood. Good food but nothing to travel all the way to Halsey St. from Queens for. Pretty sure you could find similar quality somewhere in Southside Queens:ufdup:. To the rest of my NYC brehs, I love and appreciate the anecdotes. Greatest city :noah:

Mostly white trash, nothin to really be worried about...i grew up there so shyt doesn't phase me as much....basically if u hang out (as rockaway is full of bars) ur gonna be in some shadier areas cuz thats where most of em r located. However, i like that its still kind of a secret n ppl aren't inclined to come out here cuz it keeps that tight knit community feel...but those fukkin hipsters already started invading in the summer actin like they own the place :stopitslime:

i live over the bridge in long beach so im familiar wit the area the hipsters dont seem to go any lower than like the 100s

Naw Im working at LGA. Reason I want to move farther north. Takes about an hour commute on transit from Jamaica.

Why don't you drive to work?
There's plenty of space to park around the airport

You right but it's being taken over slowly but surely from what I hear. I grew up in corona / east elmhurst right across the street from Louis Armstrong school. The south American invasion is in full effect.

I heard they was trying to close St. Gabes :to: that was my middle school, I hope that didn't happen.

They turned st Gabe's into a public elementary school

Man I had too move from Elmhurst to forest Hills and man I do like area but my pockets hate it. 1950.00 for a one bedroom on Austin st is murder . I want to hit up Astoria again maybe something cheaper?

How do you like the Austin st area? Also are you black?

I used to live in Jamaica and went up to that area from time to time to eat, considered it for a while but the prices are prime Brooklyn prices:huhldup:

Long beach is dope ... It's basically what Rockaway wants to b but can't

As for the hipsters they've infiltrated the area from beach 82nd-101st street bcuz that's where all the beach concessions are as well as that gay Ass Rockaway taco and a lot of new bars catering to them

They exist, but a lot of the black women in NYC be on that :mjpls: policy. Talking to and dating white dudes on the regular, but they try to play you if you don't establish your ground first. But the best bet for you is to go to Queens or LI for good looking black women. The new NY has a lot of hipster black women and the 90s babies are breaking out of the hoodrat image from previous decades. That is def a plus.

Word some NYC black chicks date white guys but most do it for the free dinners. White dudes here are really big simps and take any chick out to dinner :bryan:

Even the really :mjpls: ones eventually come back
