You obviously didn't live in Brooklyn in 96-97, he's not talking about what dudes in St. Louis were saying.

Brooklyn cats root for anybody from Brooklyn.

But the discussion isn't about what Brooklyn cats were saying,

it's who really belonged in the third spot.

It wasn't Jay.

As a Produgy Stan I can say with certain he was never lyrically on they level . Even when he put out a whole album shytting on Jay that I loved, he was still out of the conversation .

I thought we were talking about Jays bar which is about what they said in Brooklyn or perhaps NY projects in general.

And really after RD I'd easily say Jay-z, when it came to who the nicest emcee was. Greatest artist none of them would be on that list. People like Face, Cube and Rakim were a lot more well established, more classics, bigger impact and on.

One of the Wu-Tang

Or some old school heads would ride for G Rap, Krs, Rakim still (Which is crazy to think dudes who were in their prime up to 92 were old school by 97)
