I'm 41, no kids, low paying job, for profit school education..

similar situation, but I'm only 30. I was homeless 5 months ago, so I'm grateful right now i'm not out in this crazy ass NYC weather.

I have the desire to live though, but it wasn't like that most of 2015. Think I'm going to just quit cigarettes. Doesn't help anymore, I'm smoking two packs a day and doing some crazy shyt to get them for cheap. But the pain of withdrawal will be worth it. Scared to death to let go. But something in my spirit tells me I can do it again, did it before.

Would you kill yourself?

I'm 41, no kids, low paying job, for profit school education..

Would you kill yourself?

I'm on academic deferment so I have to pay out of pocket.

So Seriously would you just kill yourself?

I see lot of brehs have problems, I have the worst, I'm just no happy and I'm greying up fast due to unhappiness.

So why bother

I need hope, something to look forward too, even at my age, I think I need a mentor or a plan. I'm in a tough bind, depressed like hell.

When people think about killing themselves, what they really mean is, "it would be nice to live without having to worry about stuff."

Ultimately, this is what everybody wants. We want to live without worrying about what to do next, and without feeling like we have to do stuff. That's why we join the rat race and look forward to retirement, when we can lay around and not have to do shyt.

And you know what? There's nothing wrong with that:yeshrug:. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't make us lazy, it makes us human.

Stop believing that you can change who you are. Learn to love yourself for simply existing, and then you can make wise choices about your life. Practice meditation.

I'm learning how to program computers, something I've been putting off for years because I kept lying to myself and saying it wasn't for me. It was too boring, so I thought.

Now that I'm beginning to love life itself, I'm finding happiness in almost anything I do:ehh:. You can do the same, and anyone who tells you differently is a liar.

OP!

Life has no intrinsic meaning. People who say that are usually trying to imply that's a bad thing. It's actually the wonderful thing about life.

The only meaning is that which you assign for yourself. Some people focus on kids. Some on a particular job. Some on art.

Your one and only problem is that you are not on your mission. If the mission you're on makes you want to commit that, then that's not the path for you.

1) Decide what your path should be. 2) GO! Right away!

I thought about doing this last year. Applied to a school but, I had a speeding ticket and got caught driving without insurance :snoop: The driving school said they couldn't take me :snoop: I always wanted to get a CDL but, they made it sound like i was unhireable. That was almost 17 months ago (car insurance thing). Do you think I can get into one of those schools (Swift, Prime)?
Someone will take you breh. Don't give up.

Change your thoughts>>>>>>>>>>> change your beliefs>>>>>>>>>>>>>which changes your Actions>>>>>>>>>>>>>>which changes your life. Find books that will show you how to do this.

Society built you to fail, it's up to you to build who you want to be. You believe you're old, but you have time so use it wisely and create results. You believe you're uneducated but you can always learn new skills. Education is just the application of knowledge into usable skill sets. You're are not your degree. Being broke is mindset. Flush out all the programming that you received and replace it with positive beliefs about growing your wealth.

Take action each day in the new direction you want. You didn't arrive to this point by mistake.

Anyone who says you can't achieve your goals(realistic goals) should be treated like cancer. Cut them out. Good luck.:salute:

Stop making excuses and trying to take an easy way out. "You're like the beer Kane dropped in Menace, 40 and Broke."

Forget that IT because it's a global competition and companies won't pay shyt. Your first job will most likely be tech support making 35k then you have to pay rent, bills and transportation back and forth to work. You will barely have enough to save at the end of the month if you're lucky. If you were younger, I would tell you to get into the military and stack your money, but the next best option for any man without a family or kids to worry about is trucking.

Getting a CDL free you up to live anywhere in the country and work for anyone. It's the only career where you can get a job within 7 days at a drop of a hat. If you don't believe me, research it yourself. There is a shortage of drivers and companies are constantly improving their pay packages to recruit new drivers.
This. Drop the IT shyt now and don't look back. IT industry wants young talent with experience and I believe it will be hard to climb the ladder at your age. I think trucking would be great for you. You wouls have to pay your dues the first year, but after that you can find a local gig and EAT.

Mods don't delete the thread if Cuzo wants it deleted, or locked. Just change it to title: trucking jobs or something.

Best info on trucking I seen in here.

It's never to late. Everyone has a different path and you can change the direction of your life. All it takes is that first step.

It's ok to feel the way you are now. Your feelings are your GPS. So this is your body and mind telling you that you need to make a change.
