It's not the worst trade of all time

Hornets traded Kobe to LA

Sixers have once traded Wilt to LA for nothing good.

Same thing Bucks did by trading Kareem to LA for pretty much nothing.

Bucks also traded Dirk for Tractor Traylor lol

Believe it or not, these aren't the worst trades in franchise history. Of the two, Kareem had the most real impact. They had zero leverage with him because his deal was up and he respectfully forced his way out of Milwaukee for a good reason. In hindsight and on paper, that deal might look weak. But, two of those guys (Winters/Bridgeman) have retired numbers with the team.

The Dirk/Tractor Traylor deal is misunderstood, even by Bucks fans. Dirk was never coming here and that trade was simply made to secure each team's preferred player. The team's logic was that they had Big Dog plus Ray Allen, but needed a post guy, which is why they set their sights on Tractor. Dirk was always a one-way ticket to Dallas, hence the deal.

While it's not the worst in league history, the worst for us would've been flipping a young Ray Allen for a Gary Payton rental because of goofy ass George Karl. GP didn't want to be here and that move set the team back for years. Ray should've retired a Buck.

Won't change the fact that shai is 10 times better than Paul

And that doesn’t change the fact that if SGA doesn’t lead the team OKC has put together with The Clippers’s picks to the chip or Finals you’re not talking about shyt

The Clippers have had 50+ win seasons, 1st team all nba guys, top 5 mvp vote getters…that’s irrelevant

The Clippers are The Clippers because they haven’t won shyt

Bumping because OKC is en route to a 70 win season, SGA is in the running for league MVP and they may go into the playoffs with the best overall record.

This trade may look uglier by season's end.

It depends on which type of trades we consider as eligible for this conversation.

I mean Bucks traded Kareem to LA because he didn't want to be in Milwaukee, but they received a pretty bad return and never won shyt until Giannis. While Kareem won 5 CHAMPIONSHIPS in LA. One of the greatest NBA players of all time and you trade him in his prime for what exactly? Names that nobody remembers.

And then there are hybrid versions of bad trades mixed with bad drafting decisions. Warriors traded their rights to 3rd pcik + Robert Parish to go up to 1st draft pick and select Joe Barry Carroll. He was good in Golden State, but Parish had a superior career and Celtics used that 3rd pick to choose Kevin fukking McHale :dead: one trade that pretty much helped the Celtics build their 80s dynasty. Come on... Parish was also doing well in Golden State

And the worst trade ever is St. Louis Hawks trading rookie Bill Russell to Celtics for a rookie and a win now player. Exactly the same format of what Clippers and OKC did by getting win now players from OKC. And look what's happening now. While St. Louis Hawks won a championship with those guys, you know how many championships did Bill Russell win.

Depends if OKC ever wins anything. Clippers with Paul and Kawhi could have been champs if they both weren’t always hurt. Despite their record OKC isn’t scaring anyone in the playoffs. So we’ll see

Def have no excuse.

Only "acceptable" L would be Denver imo.

As ironic as it is, cats better watch out the Cappers. If Kawhi stays healthy, him, Scamgawd, Zupac, and Powell will be a problem. Bogi was a Great addition as well. Problem is Kawhi is a banana peel slip away from being hurt again. :francis:

He just seems so nonchalant. Maybe b/c he's just young...but I don't see a high motor, aggressive, take over the game type of mode from him in any game that matter. But it was Rutgers, so it's hard to tell.

Typically not something that you just turn on when you get generational money overnight :francis:

But you can only draft who’s available. So he’s still a top pick but it’s a tricky position to be in. Flagg and Harper over him, Bailey over most other prospects, but chasing Bailey’s potential could make you pass on potential studs like VJ, Tre Johnson, Queen

Bradley Beal is probably worse because people said it beforehand.

There’s two types of bad trades, after the fact when it’s all said and done or at the outset

People still believed that they could win something in the clippers and nobody knew that Shai would be the MVP in a few seasons.

With Beal, he had a history of giving zero fukks about anything other than money, and showcased by him sitting comfortably in trash ass Washington and never complaining or requesting a trade and that contract is wild. Plus injuries had already affected his game, having no hunger obviously wouldn’t help changing that

You could say the same about Durant/Kyrie Nets. If Giannis didn't injure Kyrie doesn't get injured, the Nets would've won a ring that season. The trade with the Cs not look as bad.
