So is Everyone in Agreement That The Paul George/Shai trade Was The Absolute WORST Trade in NBA History?

Is that why he had 3 MVP first ballot HOF players on one team in their prime and failed to win even one championship? Because he is so smart?

Mind blowing to me how someone who has never built a championship team can be crowned the smartest person in the nba at building teams.

Presti is "the smartest GM in the nba" the same way Morey is "the smartest GM in the nba."

So smart he traded a future HOF still on a rookie contract before an extension would even kick in and impact the financials. I will never understand why they just didn't play that next year out

Because he did what the owner told him... you know the same thing that Mavericks (allegedy) owner told Nico before shipping off Luka

Cap rules were different and Clay didn't want to pay. This is public knowledge.

And he backed himself into that corner by giving Ibaka his deal. I still think they thought they were selling high on Harden and that's why they didn't wait till the next summer. Hardbody only made like 5 million that year

Presti is way better than Morey and you know it. Morey is a moron who thought just spamming threes and doing layups in Houston will win them a championship and that right there cost them the series against Warriors when they refused to try and shoot some two pointers while they were missing everything from 3.

While I also think Presti gets overrated by some fans, he's got some excuses as well like clay bennett not paying James Harden a bigger contract and Presti being forced to trade him for an inferior return.

Presti at least hasn't handicapped his team future with ridiculous contracts. Morey has done that in Philly like a muthafukka. Also it's hard building super team in bum ass Oklahoma :dead:
The Thunder 2 & 3 string could start for th 76ers and Morey is trying to restart "The Process."

For real, this is the last GM job for Morey. He fukked his team up so bad they had to tank this year just so they could sign a talented young player for cheap....and they probably won't even afford to renew the contract with the young player from top 10 pick cause at that point they might still be stuck with Embiid and George contracts :mjlol:

Morey signed the same Paul George that Finesseti Presti used to flecee the Clips out of SGA and 5 FIRST ROUNDERS, one ended up being Jalen Williams aka J-Dub.

I should neg rep him for that response.

in this trade, PG is the one that always gets shytted on. not the player who demanded the trade to happen.

Kawhi definitely deserves to be shytted on. Internally, I'm sure Clippers management and the fanbase regrets letting Kawhi be the GM.

PG gets shytted on because he hasn't quite lived up to his potential and he also request a trade to one of the LA teams.

Tbh, winning 1-2 games wouldn't surprise me... but winning the series? Idk. Bc those 3 you mentioned (that would likely have to log 40mpg) are:
  • 37 yrs old - their sole reliable scorer
  • 36 yrs old - their starting/most reliable "center" at 6'6, and
  • 35 yrs old - their hopeful "guard the best perimeter player but also score 25+ a night" guy.
Just about everyone else in their active rotation was either born after 2002... or is Buddy Hields (31 years old... 4 games of playoff exp)... or the leftovers Payton II and Looney who are undersized defenders that don't provide much offense. I foresee more of a MIN vs PHX situation where everyone thought it was another GSW vs SAC... until it very quickly wasn't.

Same with the Lakers and their vast playoff experience that's basically 2.5 guys... one of them being 40.
strong agree

outside of houston MAYBE, i don't see GSW beating anyone in a playoff series. They're getting a LOT of credit because of Steph and Jimmy. They're were almost a 1st round exit their last playoff appearance, but Steph put up a record-breaking (at the time) 50 points in a game 7

No way they beat OKC

How was it not the trade that got Tatum and Brown to BOS?

They won a chip and have been contending for most of their careers
That one is awful as well but the Wizards would have still needed to hit on those draft picks to have anything near the Celtics’ success

edit: I remember the night that trade was announced one of the kids in my school (Boston area) was furious and said Ainge is the worst GM in the league :mjlol:
