Because of overpopulation (out of towners moving here)
the cost of living has skyrocketed
There are less jobs available
(Side note: Black people in white collar jobs are usually regular employees and not in management positions. I am in a management position and there is only one other in my office full of 60 people.)
Atlanta is dope only if you actually love the culture and like being surrounded by black people. But there is literally nothing easier in regards to cost of living. Not at all. It’s overly populated. And if you are a entertainer, just know it’s as easy finding a acting gig as it is in LA. (Which I’m sure isn’t easy). You gotta network
have the right plan and rent money in hand to hold off until you get the job you really want. If you work hard and have the right mindset then of course you can end up being sucessful amd loving it here. The people who move here and talk shyt and leave, really mad at themselves for thinking shyt sweet just cuz a lot of black people LIVE here and want shyt handed to them, not realizing 99% of all businesses here are owned by white people. They come here expecting the black hookup thinking we really running shyt on a level that we are not. Work hard with a solid plan and you will figure it out bruh. I’ve seen the world, but remain in Atlanta, because I love being surrounded by black faces and I love the cities culture. You have to actually like the city.
good luck
There are a lot of misconceptions and generalizations in this post, some that make no sense.
The city is not overpopulated
99% of businesses aren’t owned by white people
Atlanta’s a great place to live, work and play. Atlanta is well known for its entertainment industry (movies, television and music) but is also a burgeoning tech hub.
As far as black people in management and senior level positions, Atlanta is home to over 20 Fortune 500 companies (Coca Cola, Chik Fil A, UPS, Home Depot, Delta, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, etc) and is a cultural destination for black people (home of the Civil Rights movement, Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Atlanta University Center, etc).
If you come here focused and ready to work and network you can find success. But if you come here on bullshyt and think everything is gonna be handed to you then Atlanta won’t be all that special to you. I can help point you in the right direction if you need it OP. Good luck
