I don’t think any traditional cuisines from any culture are going to consistently present a good balanced meal with 30g protein “by accident”. Maybe one or two plates but generally nah.

Sources of protein were simply too expensive for most of human history.

On the other hand you can take almost any cuisines dish, including the ones depicted, and change the quantity of each component to make it a “balanced meal”.

Throughout history protein was both too expensive and science had not yet fully realized its importance for cuisines to be properly balanced according to modern science.

Some exceptions might be certain cultures, for instance Asian steppe cultures, that have exclusively protein diets but lack fibers and greens and I’m not sure if those diets are better if at all.

Whether it's McDonalds, Pappa Johns, Jamaican Food ect. There's nothing wrong with eating unhealthy food once in a blue. It's only an issue if you eat it on a constant basis.

All fats aren't unhealthy.

Fats from butter, ghee, olive oil, and even fresh lard are not unhealthy.

It's the seed oil fats from corn oil, peanut oil, and vegetable oil that are not good at all.
The are healthy fats on those plates are in Jamaican food in general but it gets drowned out by other fats and sugars.

Peanut porridge healthy until you put loads of condensed milk
Cornmeal porridge - healthy till you add loads of condensed milk and sugar
Ackee and salt fish - healthy till you add loads of vegetable oil and not enough protein

Dammit now I want all the above. Were Doomed!

Most Caribbean (Black & Hispanic) is like that. Hella fats, & carbs. Throw in all the red meat like oxtail & curry goat and you get a :flabbynsick: plate. They call me yankee & Jamerican all they want, but mi nuh nyam dat, that’s how I stay lean & cut and not big an mompy like dem!

Jamaicans eat the same food at home. They are not that adventurous. The same oxtail at home is the same at the restaurant in terms of calories. Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying?

granted it probably wasn't more than 300 calories but i don't think our bellies are meant to handle a lot of food at once.

I'll have a curry goat only on a cheat day cause I know that meal alone is gonna be 2000+ cals. Rest of the day is veggies and protein here and there...

That’s what happened to the first generation Caribbean kids. Grew up eating Jamaican food everyday. They just wanted a pizza for dinner once in a while but it’s the same thing every single day.
