Yeah theyre trying to compete by pushing a brand new product thats MORE expensive than all of the alternatives. That might work with liquor or clothes but it makes no sense for a cellphone app...
Tidal has a $10 option just like Spotify.

And a smaller catalog so you're still paying the same money for less service which makes it more expensive. Also like has been said 10 times in this thread, Spotify also has a a free version and Tidal does not...so again, more expensive.

Any way you look at it its more expensive. They even make you give up your credit card info for the free trial...

People just want this to fail because Jay Z is the face of the company, this would be a huge success if Taylor Swift was the face of Tidal so that's why i don't subscribe to the "more expensive" logic. Spotify wouldn't be successful if people weren't paying for it and there are a lot of people who have the premium membership, as for Tidal's smaller catalog it can grow over time but it's not going to be overnight.

SO, you're paying for something it could be. The labels can hit Tidal with the:mjpls: and not license the music or overcharge them for it since they're charging higher fees. shyt do not just happen.

:what:

Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, J Cole, Daft Punk, Giant Mouse Head...all of them showed up at that press conference to be the face of the company so it is very stupid to blame the struggle only on Jay Z hate (and if everyone wants him to fail, how exactly does he manage to stay famous and make money :patrice:).

The only question that really matters is: Did you sign up for Tidal?

If not, then there is no argument

a) I just spit my drink out at the bolded and underlined :mjlol:

b) If Jay-Z was on stage with a bunch of independent/underground artists that would benefit the most from something that puts more money in their pockets for their music, it's one thing. But to have a dog and pony show with A-list names that aren't hurting for money the least bit at the press conference, no one is going to feel any sympathy towards them. People not subscribing to Tidal isn't going to hurt their bank accounts at all.

1. Jay is the main figure head of Tidal so having a bunch of other celebs up there doesn't change that, especially whenever people want to diss it they automatically bring his name and only his name up.
2. No, because I never subscribe to services until they get all the glitches worked out. I waited over a year before signing up for the PSN network & Xbox Live because i knew there would be technical issues.

You can lie and tell yourself there's no Jay hate, yet every other thread in this forum is Tidal's a failure or Jay takes another L.
