Treach didn't step to them over that. He stepped to them because Pos said something about Naughty by Nature on the intro to "Stakes Is High". That wasn't a diss either, he just used the group name in a verse.

The thing about De La, when they dissed people, it was pretty obvious. The "I'm sick of Vesace glasses" on the song "Stakes Is High", and "I got questions about your life if you're so ready to die" on "Long Island Degrees"....both obvious BIG disses.

Matter of fact, the whole second verse of "Stakes Is High" is shytting on the whole rap game at the time.

Also Raekwon/mafia rap in general got dissed on the same album on the song "Itzsoweeze". "Cubans don't care what yall n*ggas do, Colombians ain't never ran with your crew, why you acting all spicy and sheisty? The only Italians you knew was Icees".

The more I think about it the LL shyt makes sense. Song called "Old School", no matter how much props you're giving it's on some "this was back in the days".

LL was still going plat in '95 when the song dropped. "Mr. Smith" went 2x plat. So LL, being kinda a dikk head, probably took offense like "my career ain't over yet".

the fugees, de la soul, mobb deep, jay camel and ALOT of other people dissed pac first.

i think LL took offense to that line from "old school" and rightfully so. the LL beef is the only one i could say that pac deserved the blame for.

i think the nas/pac beef was a misunderstanding between the both of them.

I don't think he dissed LL with that line. Just think he was saying he moved to different songs to fall in love with. I mean in the 3rd verse he says "I remember breakdancing to melle mel,jekyl hyde and LL when he rocks the bells" Then on the outro "llcoolj as hard as hell" No point in dissing a nikka once and saluting twice. It was all props,though the 1st props coulda been phrased better

Yeah that's the tuff part cuz Pac has stated LL as one of his favorites and gave props multiple times in the song,but that LL line is like the one slightly backhanded line in the song,even tho the hook pretty much tells u the whole song is a nod to those who paved a way....definitly coulda phrased it better or not said it at all,I don't think he even rhymed it with nuthing which is why it kinda makes u wonder.....its not even neccesary in the rhyme,but like u said makes no sense to diss and then give props later.


But I never saw the borrow the mic off the arm line as offensive either like sum people.....this line in Old School comes off worse.

Folks forget Pac wuz in jail on the east coast and would hear rappers talkin slick,I think he had dissed Qtip for that in a interview before and said he heard em on the radio talkin down,but they would come do shows in cali and act like it wuz all love....plus he had family on the east who would hear these interviews and tell em shyt....I remember hearin a Slick Rick interview where he completely trashed the west coast sumbody on sohh posted from youtube,dude wuz straight hatin..

Pac definitly had his reasons whether stupid/petty as u might think it is,I definitly don't think it wuz for show like sum people try to say.....he dissed a bunch of people in his career in interviews and what not,then sumtimes he'd change his mind later on,his friends and family said he'd do the same with them and they would just say "well that's just Pac" then he'd come back and they'd be friends again...harder to do that when u dissin sumbody in front of millions of people to just take it back though.

He COULD of used that as fuel but only if he was already looking for problems cause it was clear pac was giving props on that song.

Mr. smith came out in nov and LL had been hurting for a few years.

LL never really dissed him either..yeah he had that I Shot Ya remix thing goin on, but that wasnt a direct Pac diss.

Same for the Fugees and Jay, Nas, Mobb Deep, etc..but Pac was paranoid and took the whole "WAR" mantra to a new level.

It cost him his life.

Actually he ran wild on NY. They didn't do anything about it. It was some gang shyt that killed him after he checked on his boy's fight in Vegas.

So the point is, his career was never over, and name dropping him on a song called "Old School" talking about the good ol days could be taken the wrong way.
