So what exactly is that whole "I never heard him get played in the hood" arguement supposed to mean?

reading all this at 6am high out my mind before work and it hit me in your conclusion that this was all typed out to defend k-rinos honor :dwillhuh:

There was this one K-Rhino thread where this motherfukker had 50 posts in 4 pages defending him. I hope he never meets K-Dingbat in the flesh because if he does, he'll probably murder him on some Mark David Chapman obsessed fan shyt.

claim "troll" when unexpectedly shytted on, brehs :mjlol:

All good bruh :salute: You wouldn't be the first :banderas:
I just don't know what to say to that, even if you weren't trolling, and you are. It wouldn't even be worth the response because like I said, you're not from where I'm from, or what I'm from. There's literally nothing you can tell me about the hood, like nothing. I've lived it. I know it inside and out.

So if you're trolling good job, if you're not, then go get informed.

Till then,

I'm really :dead: at K-Panda getting play in hoods. I legit never even heard of him before the coli and Ruler's stanning. You'd think he was some sort of worldwide legend reading his posts. He's the only person I've ever seen who got their Wikipedia taken down for being too irrelevant :bryan:
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K-Rino - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K-Rino (2nd nomination) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Has several albums, but none on a major label or notable indy"
"The must come a point where an artist is notable no matter what label he's on. "
"The point is that there is no third party coverage on this artist because he is not a "prominent" musician of any sort"
"it does not matter how many albums this person has released if no one is buying them."

.

oh, and don't be surprised if @biscuitsnbangers knows more about this hip hop shyt and has better hip hop taste than you.

Chill. Don't do this. I hate when posters use me and put me on a pedestal to try and shyt on another poster. It rubs me the wrong way.

Hes a good poster and I think you're taking his post too personal and it's blinding you from being objective.

There are a lot of smart & intellectual folks in the hood. Now, it may not be to your standard or what you feel is "intellectual" but smart in their own way. Intellectualism is subjective.

I've listened to street rappers say things that most who don't understand or refuse to see past slang, accents etc say some really good thought provoking things. That to a book nerd they'd write em off. But that doesn't mean they aren't intellectual.

Not every person is smart about the same subjects. My dad is an idiot when it comes to politics and I can out debate him but he's really good at math. Something I'm not.

I interpret the claim "played in the hood" as referring to acceptance among a specific sub set of black american culture that resides in urban areas, or generally among the black underclass. Which for some odd reason is seen as the authentic black people culture in the eyes of a lot of black ppl. For example, Troy Ave's attack on Joey Badass was basically code for, "real black ppl don't fukk with that corny hip-hoppity music you make". And the reason why he says that is because he perceives the opinion of black people from that culture as more valuable than the opinions of cacs on the internet or hipster black kids.

As far as its implications are concern, today, I don't think that that cultures outlook on music should be valued. Because their preferences are way to homogeneous in nature and that is hurting variety when it comes to new artists.

Look at Desiigner, why would he not want to mimic Future's sound and look when that is in demand by the culture he values the most? If he wants to appeal to that group than he has to work within a set of constraints to do so. The problem is that these constrains stagnant variety and produce generic rehashes like Uzi vert and Desiigner. But even worse, they punish rappers like Joey Badass, Astro, or David East who also want to appeal to that crowd while at the same time carrying some semblance of traditional MC values, or other properties that aren't derived straight from the ATL club scene.

Go re-read what was typed. He brought you up outta the blue in a post to diss me. If he hadn't mentioned you in a post directed at me, I wouldn't have said shyt about you.

Bring that shyt up with him, not me :dahell:

fukk the pandering bullshyt. Most people in the hood are not that intellectual. I know people on the front lines trying to help and make things equal so that poor Black folk/minorities can get equal access. And y'all here pandering.

I'm not saying people in the hood aren't worth listening to/respecting. I was simply talking about education.

I'm going to be very blunt, who cares about the hood? Seriously.

First off anytime i've seen any artist live I instantly regretted it and wondered ..."who gives a fukk about this dude on stage" I saw lil wayne in concert one time and he was super late and took all The bytches and left
Chief keef shows up 3 hours later and who really cares?

Who cares about the hood also, is there any good that comes from the hood? What value does the hood hold? Why is "hood" the end all be all in hiphop etc urban culture? Like the hood is a mecca of trill, solid street
Dudes that have honor and aren't petty?
Nah some exist there tho. The hood
Is still filled with a bunch of bullshyt and snitches and fakkits.

So can this arguement be spun into "i never heard him played in the suburbs" wouldn't that guage success better? I was outside a dikkeys bbq in a rich white/asian area and i heard "you know that i got it, you know that i got it" being bumped from a car passing by... So jaquees at that moment got me listening to that song again but he was played not in the hood... Fail for him? I think not

Then I was in LA and at a gas station near the hood and a car pulled up
Bumping future.... Street co sign? Or mega artist that you'll hear anywhere because he just dropped ds2 at the time

Emotional ass nikka, I didn't diss you once :laff:

I even made sure to put in my post how well i think you write. :mjlol:

Stop being emotional and be objective. I didn't say anything that should have been offensive to you.

I'm saying that the reason why I don't comment on cultures in the UK, or Cultures anywhere else, is simply because I can never really understand them.

I could listen to that grime shyt all day, but I would never pretend that I really understand it because I'm not from there.

Somewhere along the way, people have tried to make it seem like because you listen to Hip Hop, means you understand the culture. And it's not true.

I'm gonna put you on my ignore list, not because I think you're a bad poster, but because you're wayyyy to emotional.

There's no emotion. Just a statement of fact. But lemme guess: you're the cool, collected one. Which is why you're hitting me with the 2nd row of juelz and the ignore. :laff:

Don't worry about it breh. It aint that deep :mjlol:Nice talkin.

All depends on your hood tho.

Outside of the coli I've never heard of this dude K rino

But in my hood. BG Scarface Boosie Trick Daddy Gucci Curren$y get played heavy. I'm from Miami a lot of dude don't even play Ross down here.

Me personally I'm a huge drake fan. He in heavy rotation. Jay is the Goat. And a few others. Kendrick gets no play tho in my hood. Nobody wants to hear him mumbling over the track

Being an "intellectual" has nothing to do with formal education.
