It DEFINATELY went From Rock to Brock, what came after that is whatever, but it was Rock to pass the torch to Brock

you're right that was a clear movement

Andre
Hogan
Savage
Hogan
Bret
HBK
Austin
Rock
Lesnar
Taker
Cena*

idk where you'd fit in HHH...i just don't see it considering those other movements were pretty linear

To be honest, do you think Diesel deserves a mention? I mean, if HHH is getting them when he was only champ on the opposite show during Brock's reign, Diesel held the strap for an entire year. I mean, you think Diesel's reign was in the middle of Bret/HBK's?

And low key, with the WWE changing the belt from Cena's spinner to the current design we are entering a new era right now, but is it CM Punks or DBry's?

for those who say savage wasnt the one...
He was personally hand selected by Hulk Hogan to hold the strap while he was off to shoot no holds barred, because he felt he was the best worker in the company and had all the tangibles it takes to carry the torch, which set in motion his face turn

He was DEFINITATELY THE ONE 87-89:ufdup:

not too mention co-headliend Wrestlemania VII&VIII,which is when WWE started promoting Double Main Event at the show

Bruno was a diffrent era,,,,Backlund and Andre were NEVER his backups

True about the different era but Bruno was undoubtedly THE face of Vince Sr.'s WWWF over either of them hence them getting title runs AFTER him.

Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh on Andre, wasn't my intention.

Californ-i-a by way of BK
If i were to create a LINEAGE of being 'the one'...not 'a top guy'...but THE GUY...it would look like this. And hogan is there twice purposefully beacuse between manias IV and V, savage WAS the one, until hogan got the belt back.

Andre
Hogan
Savage
Hogan
Bret
HBK
Austin
Rock
Taker
Lesnar
Cena*

I don't think at any point anyone sniffs these guys as being the face of the company, agreed?

Andre was never really "The guy" in the WWE

If you just mean "Top of the promotion, carry us for the next 5 years"

Hogan - Major success
Warrior - Major failure
Bret Hart - Failure
Shawn Michaels - Failure
Steve Austin - Major success
The Rock - Major success
John Cena - Success
