One of biggest travesties in pro sports history and people just pretend like it was nothing cause it screwed the Lakers. ..

I remember how people were trying to justify it because getting eric fukking gordon was such a better deal for the hornets :stopitslime:

It was. I don't think you remember how many here (on this board and off) who ALL thought Gordon had next.

While I thought it shoulda just went through, owners sign off on any deal done.

Gordon wasn't even the most valuable part of that trade. That Minny unprotected first rounder was, and they were a pick away from that being Andre Drummond.

This shyt is like Laker stan Benghazi. Never will let it go :mjlol:

They just refuse to understand how the team was owned by the NBA and wasn't able to make a trade of such great importance...That was better left for the real ownership.

. And some teams never get number one picks. Does seem suspicious, just like the bulls getting rose

Let's not forget the 3 first overall picks the cavs got in the 4 years right after Lebron left.

Also the 1984 draft is fishy af too.

Basically I've come to accept that professional sports are all rigged. They are still entertaining to watch, but there's just waaaaay too much money involved for it not to be controlled.

Fan bases have attacked me and called me delusional conspiracy theorist, then I ask them "do you think the 2002 WCF was rigged between the Kings and Lakers?"

"Ofc that shyt was rigged" they proclaim

Then that makes you a crazy conspiracy theorist as well. Except you choose to believe only one playoff series was rigged, and can't possibly fathom the entire NBA being rigged.

Nope it was cuban and Gilbert crying your telling me Kaman, Gordon and Aminu was a better package than Lamar Odom, Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic and a 2012 first-round pick??

Yall can keep lying to yourselves that it was a bad deal that got vetoed

We talking about the same Kevin Martin who was then traded for James Harden too, which is extremely absurd.

A bad trade, but they thought Eric Gordon's 32 games per season was enough for Chris Paul :beli:

But let KD go to GS..... isn't that way worse than Paul teaming up with Kobe.
KEvin Durant makes golden state WORSE.

Nba let the trade had, so the world can see golden state implode upon itself.

Golden state doesnt realize they have effectively destroyed their championship hopes. Golden state is MUCH easier to guard with Durant.

You guys make think I'm crazy, but watch how this season plays out. Durant going to golden state is one of the worst superstar signings ever.

Good god I still get pissed Dell Demps made that trade.

Stern did what's right and made us take a trade that would actually give us a shot at a franchise changer (Anthony Davis), not a trade that would have had us hovering in mediocrity...even though we STILL are hovering around mediocrity with AD :sadcam:

The trade sucked.

Durant was a free agent and the warriors had cap slace .

I don't know how people act like there are any parallels between these two things. Paul and Kobe wouldn't have won shyt anyway.

fukk off fakkit, New Orleans really in that great of a place since? One 8th seeded spot since where they were swept? "Oh but they got Anthony Davis", ya and haven't done shyt with him and had to "tank" to get him.

why did the NBA nix the deal? because it was a garbage deal that would have killed any worth that franchise had. The NBA was in the process of trying to find a permanent owner, and a team with Chris Paul attached to it was a lot more appealing that a team with Lamar Odom, Luis Scola, and Goran Dragic.

What should us casuals look for when determining that the Durant signing was horrible? Team record? Point Differential? Net Rating? Championship?

1. just watch games this season and see with your own eyes how much easier it will be for teams to guard golden state. They simply added ANOTHER ball stopper in Durant.

2. Just watch and see, how most of Golden State games will be close this season, you won't see as many blowouts since they are much easier to guard.

3. They won't even be in the finals this year.

4. Look at their advanced stats at the end of the season, I guarantee they will be WORSE than last season.

5. Team record of course, they won't even sniff 70 wins this season. Probably they will end up in the 50-55 wins range.

6. Does Durant help any of the major defensive flaws that almost cost them trip to the finals and also cost them a championship? NO

7. Does Durant change the fact that Steph curry still is one of the worst defenders in the league (a major reason, why they lost to the cavs) NO

8. Pay attention to the forced and unnatural chemistry golden state will have this season. Golden State has natural and fluent chemistry, that is gone now with Durant.

9. Durant is a LOW IQ player, he is simply not a smart basketball player. Hence why he is MAJOR reason okc never succeeded.

10. Golden states bench is MUCH WORSE then last season, and they have ZERO Depth now. If any of their starting 5 sustains a major injury or even a non major injury at the wrong time, they don't have the luxury of depth they had last season.

11. Zaza pachulia is also a LOW IQ basketball player. The main reason he gets traded around so much. Golden state lost bogut because they needed cap space to sign durant. Losing bogut will end up being a MAJOR blow. Just watch how fluid Dallas MAvericks offense will be now that they have bogut to set screens and make GREAT passes.

Durant doesn't help this team in ANY way. Golden state did NOT need ANOTHER high volume shooter who is turnover prone and suspect on defense.

I said it last season that Golden state will NEVER win another championship as long as Steph Curry is their starting point guard. Durant doesnt change this fact.

Andre Iguodala said it himself, that last season OKC was BY FAR the best team in western conference.

Durant had a better chance at winning a championship this year if he stayed with okc, and let them add few peices here in there to make them even better than last season.
