This is a real reality. Entry level Tech jobs will not hire you because they know you are overqualified and will dip at the first opportunity you get. And so will other fields and positions he applies to. This market is fukked up. I've got 12years experience and never expereinced the IT industry this janky EVER!

I've been ghosted by companies mid hiring process multiple times in the past year. That has never happened at any point job hunting. My network is going thru the same issues I am.
Not even talking about tech jobs breh. Think of how many people out there are working well-paying office jobs with a non-tech degree. Those are all game for a BSCS. It’s like being level 99 and going to a level 20 area. Mention “automation” or “A.I” in an interview and they’ll hire on spot.

At the end of the day it’s still a high-level degree that earns respect in the real world across multiple industries and is associated with having a skill set in addition to traits such as learning complex material and a higher problem solving ability. It also may mean you have tricks up your sleeve that you can utilize that the average population doesn’t know about that can be used to make the job run better and people look good.

I don’t know if you watch basketball, but Cade Cunningham said he decided to be a point guard because his brother said that instead of trying to be a smaller wing, switch to being a big point guard as there’ll be a natural enormous mismatch vs most of the field. These advanced degrees provide that opportunity.

Hundreds of millions of jobs out there to choose from and people getting discouraged after a few hundred resumes for one highly-competitive field. It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing thing.

The Truth
-most likely he's a racist
-has no connections
-a terrible interviewer
-nobody likes him.
-no networking skills
Central New York?

Are you sure his problem that he can't find a job or that he only wants to work remotely?

:patrice:
Just your typical proganda and fear mongering article
All of this

Dude couldn’t move? He couldn’t pivot into something else that requires coding skills?

IT is too big for all this bullshyt right now.. and its usually only “developers” crying in the media like this.

Job market sucks more now.. we get it. AI probably will not work long term.. pivot and wait.

The reality is if you are an IT, tech, you are essentially useless at this point with AI

Ultimate irony being he coded his own replacement

Use you until you're not needed. That's been the plan for most businesses in America.

Getting rid of insurance and office space is all they needed to hear.

When they said next industrial revolution, this is what they meant.
Changing the whole game and rigging it to be in their favor.
They own everything, and put you on a limited fixed common income that you can only use with their companies.
The same games these slave owners have been playing for years, just with different names and definitions created to deceive.

People really don’t know how to leverage themselves.

From SWE to DoorDash? Nothing in between?

I can get so many non-SWE/tech office jobs and sit on top of a resume pile because I have a line on my resume that says “B.S Computer Science”.

Sounds like a bullshyt story for clout.
He probably doesnt want to do the humiliation ritual that is the application process nowadays. Basically gotta dance and jig for a job in tech (they even require you to send a video of yourself nowadays)

The H
The portion of the state that gets called Upstate but isn't really Upstate...2-3 hours from the city. Moving closer to the city, let alone in it, will erase the cost-effectiveness of his salary.
Im talking about a whole different State
He needs to move to Kentucky if that's where the jobs are
Texas is FULL

If he’s not mad about it then why is he talking about it? If AI took my job and had me having to choose between getting a tech cert or a CDL, I’m saying fukk AI forever. Damn that :russ:

He better not be one of them WFH gang folks either. If you want a job bad enough you’d move wherever. I’m not going from 6 figures to DoorDash

CEOs are literally telling people that they want to run most folks out of their jobs.
Where I work ( big company, let some devs and others go recently, there is an order in place for no additional hiring for time being unless proven can't do job with AI )

Now I think the were going to freeze hiring for a bit anyhow so this makes it look like they are actively trying to use AI ( we are ) to a higher degree than before if that makes sense
