Ain’t really feeling this on my first listen but I’ll give Solange the benefit of the doubt cause Seat At The Table was a classic

This project is super blah. From the mad interludes, to the short ass songs, this project screams pretentious art project. Their is not a Cranes in the Sky, nothing comes close to that. Highly disappointed. Should be re-titled, "When I Get Home I'll finish this shyt"

That's the experimental aspect of the album; it's a texture album in the sense that you're experiencing the music differently from how you would listen to an album with the pop aspects you're affiliating with melody/lyrics. The focus is on how the music and vocals work together to create a feeling and vibe, whereas on an album like A Seat At The Table, the goal is to draw attention to the big catchy choruses and explicit thematic subject matter. It's something I see a lot of new alternative R&B artists are doing with their music

Reminds me of how blonde went totally left after channel orange, which was a lot more accessible along with ASATT ..this is different and that's not innately a bad thing
