Since this thread was created I've been following Black folks I know in corporate more closely on LinkedIn and so many have been laid off over the past year or so. And this includes brehs from good schools and top MBA programs (eg Stanford, Chicago Booth, etc) and most of them are under 40.

Is it just me?

I really got fukked over on my performance review this year and it will probably cost me about 30k after tax due to being given a lower bonus.

As a black person I always knew id never fit in with these white/asian folks and that they will always look for the simplest reason to fukk you over or cut you loose. But i am seeing it now more than ever.

The thing is it isnt just me. It seems like a lot of black ppl i know are struggling big time lately with being respected or rewarded at work across different fields

How are things on yalls end? Are yall noticing anything similar?

Did you handle that like I told you OP.

I just received the most glowing performance review in my career while simultaneously spending the most time home playing video games and getting my dikk sucked.

You just gotta figure out how to play the game. Gotta look like you doing the most and going above and beyond without actually doing shyt. I’m playing the travel game now, so I’m living on the company dime a week or two out the month. Travel day on Monday, actually work Tuesday and Wednesday, travel home Thursday, then stay home and check email on Friday. Can’t beat it.

How many hours a day do you usually play video games?

You just now figuring that out :mjlol:

In order to thrive you have to be an exceptional negro and even that isn’t enough. You have to also build relationships with the right CAC.

Most black people in corporate are comfortable reaching a certain level and are content.
It's just not corporate, I have family members that work in the shipyards back home for years and when I ask them why aren't they Managers/Supervisors they say. "man I don't want to be responsible for all the people" but then turn around and say the man holding them back. 🤦🏿‍♂️
