how is it different? I remember listening to a song a few years ago and I swore there was a sample missing or something different about it. I lost my CD years and years ago I’ll have to either find an original pressing or find a link to the old album somewhere.

Supertramp or whoever owns their publishing, I’m sure probably the lead writer of the band makes most of the money, who knows of the other band members got ducked out of that originally as well

To be honest, the newer version was better in my opinion. It sets the tone way better, great beat and the vocals are better.

If 50 didn't come out 6 months later and if the Eminem Show flopped, the sample clearance issues on this song would have killed Dre and Aftermath for good. It did kill Truth Hurts' career and essentially Rakim's comeback.
