alot of people are complaining but aren't seein it for what it really is. Back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, our neighborhoods went to shyt and you couldn't give away the property, it would have been a great opportunity for some black capitalistic minds to come in a sweep up everything and bank. But we didn't, we were in total disarray and the train flew right by us.

I remember in 06' I spoke with a white dude at a community meeting in Harlem, and he told me about how you couldn't give away a lot o the brownstones in the area back in the 80s. So what did he do? He claimed a few for next to nothing, paid the back taxes in a government program, held on to them and now (at that time) he was telling me that they were worth 1.2 mill or something like that. Same shyt is about to happen in Detroit.

Agreed. We complain about Gentrification and it is fukked up, but the other side of it isn't necessarily bad also. I can't say either side is necessarily wrong. If we don't want the cacs coming in to reclaim goldmines of land/property sitting vacant and fukked up for DECADES, then don't get mad when cacs swoop in on the comeup and take advantage. We should be the ones doing it, but far too many accept living surrounded by fukkery and dilapidated shyt.

We need to be the ones doing this, but we aren't, so it's hard for me to feel sorry when we let the cacs do it and get upset.

Don't wanna hear no shyt about we don't have the money either because WE DO. let's make it happen!

NY is just gonna always cycle in terms of demographics and economy.

Detroit was more or less a one trick pony.

That is the truth about alot of cities. Once upon a time long ago alot of these cities were all white. Once black people gained the same financial status they moved into the neighborhoods and the white people didn't like it and moved out of the city. Eventually the neighborhood went to shyt for whatever reason. So give it another 50 to 75 years and we can have our beautiful blighted neighborhood back.
