The angst against the Heat for having a pep rally in their own city was the dumbest outburst of sports anger I've seen in recent years.

The Heat management put on a big PR show around THEIR FANS to build excitement around THEIR FAN BASE and the media perverted it into a showcase of black arrogance as if that was meant for everyone.

I swear, I have never seen such a retarded sports world as we do now. And the internet and people with stupid opinions has been nothing but an accelerant for the explosion of stupidity.

I don't even think the welcoming ceremony though is what pissed people off. It was the proclamation of it being so easy that Pat Riley could start a point guard. And that they were just going to keep winning titles.

By deciding to go to Miami Lebron thrust himself out of the underdog status to taking the easy way out. The media loves the narrative or a player taking a bad team and turning them into champions. So you can't act like Lebron was just an innocent bystander. He handled the situation entirely wrong and you can't knock the backlash to it.

Iverson was 100% right. I think part of the Lebron backlash was that people held him up as one of the honorable athletes that has fun playing the game. The minute he shows that it's a business and he's going to treat it as such they immediately jumped to tear him down. Now he's the example of what's wrong with today's athletes. And there is definitely a racist undertone to it all. Iverson was dead on with saying stop trying to cater to the media and trying to be all perfect and just be yourself because eventually they'll tear you down anyway the second they feel they have ammo.

This is a misconception. Signing with Miami wasn't taking the easy way out at all. He signed with a team full of holes and put way more pressure on himself. Plus the backlash from the homorific haters being described in this thread.

He gave up a lot to get the little bit of help he needed. But keep it real, this Heat team is far from any kind of Dream Team.

And how is he the example of what's wrong with today's athlete? He's the exact OPPOSITE. He gave up money and personal glory for winning. He made his announcement an act charity... for the kids! He's an actual role model. No legal problems, no dirty play.

Dude is squeaky clean. In all honesty, hating LeBron is some real hoe shyt. No other way to put it because the hate isn't warranted at all.

The funny thing about Iverson's statement is that Bron IS fake and cacs still hate him anyway..Never seen such a politically correct, even keeled, begging to please negro get shytted on so much, despite his efforts...This leads me to believe that the Durant and Rose falls from honkey grace are gonna be astonishingly huge...

So are you going to pretend that even former NBA players weren't coming out saying him going to a team with another top 5 player and another top 20 player was some hoe shyt? I personally ain't mad at the man for doing it. Why try to put yourself at a disadvantage if you don't have to. When it comes time to write his place in history all that counts is how many rings you get, now how you went about getting those rings. But to act like him teaming up with Bosh and Wade wasn't the easy route is just being dishonest. Most of the title runs over the past 25 years or so was spearheaded by having 2-3 superstars and solid players around them.

As far as the narrative of him being what's wrong with today's players, the media loves to spin the tales of how players back in the day played for crumbs and played for the love of the game. And the #1 thing Lebron has made clear is that he's all about building his brand and making as much money as possible. Doing that doesn't fit the little box that the media tries to paint these athletes in. They just basically want the athletes to shut up and go entertain.

Lebron has been a model athlete and is showing that you should use your athletic talent for more than just being an athlete.

Be black.

I do remember when that pic of him came out where he was in the gym and had all them tattoos on his torso

a lot of them media folk were like :ohhh: "this guy we've been praising looks just like the people we criticize...what do we do"...luckily he didn't do anything to perpetuate anything.

I remember reading somewhere where some guy was like "I just thought he was different" :aicmon:

That said ain't nobody turning on him especially if "he beats LeBron" this series

Ahh so his crime was not signing with your team. Gotcha

There's really only 2 reasons to hate LeBron: a) He didn't sign with your team or b) He shat on your team.

All that other talk is just nonsense. He announced his decision on TV. So what? I'm sure that wasn't his idea. And even then he tried to spin it positively by making it a charity event.

Comparing it to Peyton Manning is silly. Was Peyton an unrestricted FA and 2 time reigning MVP in his prime at the time? Or a potentially washed up QB who didn't take a snap last year and was cut?

LeBron's decision was a big deal. Be reality. If it wasn't such a big deal no one would have watched it and obviously everyone did. You weren't mad until he said "South Beach."

Is that really a reason to dislike someone? No. That's why they call it HATE.

All real shyt. Had he signed back with Cleveland they'd still be huggin his nuts. plus I hate how NY fans actin salty. News reporters on TV talking about..."well Lebron has on a NY Yankees cap, maybe hes hinting as to where he s going" :wtf:

Yankee hats are a fashion statement...stop reachin'. So nikkas decided to champion Carmelo for going to the knicks then talk about trading him when Jeremy Lin had a few good games. :what:

LOL@y'all acting like the media created this shyt. A.I. did dumbshyt. Kobe did dumbshyt, LeBron did dumbshyt. They did it to themselves. We all judge people, we all change our perceptions of people based on whatever actions. And that Miami thing was hardly LeBron's first "mistake".

nikka shut your :wrist: ass up.

Also add that he has a black wife(fiancee). That's a breathe of fresh air with today's superstar NBA players.

those same cacs who hate him are the same ones waiting in line for hours to cop his sneakers though, so those same cacs are putting millions in his pockets.
