On Compton album:

“shyt was wack. I love Dre to death but it was wack,” Stat told Trent Clark, Justin Hunte, Jake Rohn and Marcel Williams. “This how this shyt work is how music goes, this is how you know your shyt [is] good. 2-3 months after it come out.” He continued, “It’s not that it wasn’t put together quality wise, it’s not that it wasn’t quality beats and shyt like that, it just didn’t capture the attention of the world. The only reason it got where it was was because the movie was so phenomenal. And that’s no diss. People think if you don’t like something you’re dissing it. I love Dre. He’s my everything. I helped him [with the project] but that don’t mean it’s the shyt just cause I helped, you know what I’m saying, WE fukked up!”

i think Stat didn't know Compton was an Apple Exclusive, that's why it didn't sell too well. chances are most of Dre's fans from back then didn't even know it dropped. or maybe they just grew out off rap music.

Everywhere...You never there.
I wish slaughterhouse had said no.
that 2nd album was absolute basura and it's 100% Eminem fault.

Can't blame Stat for not wanting to be that corny.

Really tho...

....but he shoulda bit the bullet... at least early on... don't blackball ya'self before ya first LP. :snoop:

Stat shyt is solid. His voice deserved to be heard on an LP.

Still spin his mixtape shyt from time to time

and :pacspit: to ol' sensitive ho' a$$ Em for not lettin' the homie shine.

Remember that freestyle from circa 2005, it's him and Dre, and Dre is acting like a creep 'ahhhhh stat' similar to 'Nas Is Coming', it's like 10 minutes long....My homies used to play that all the time, it used to fade in and out, as I drank straight 151 or hennesey, it's like it was neverending....I'd pass out, wake up, sometimes morning, sometimes still night, in this girls bed and that freestyle would be playing again, like some kind of haunting chant. It was like a partial backdrop to an alcoholic affair, with cocaine in my nose, and throwing up bile after 3 day drinking binges....lol playing it brings back those memories.... I found it years later, but somehow it never sounds the same.

edit: I remember that Yahtzee line! haha

>> Stat Quo addressed all of this in his music after he left <<
Most of it he addressed on Dear Summer Pt. 2

@Sir Brehsington
Dre said Detox is droppin after the Re-Up
Zeek leaked Billion Bucks to heat the streets up
The streets was lovin it, Atlanta radio added it to they list
But Dre ain't give a fukk, he said it wouldn't hit
He told me to drop Get Low and he'll be in the video (OW YEAH?!)
In the studio with Snoop talkin treatments
Gettin high, I can hardly believe this
I trusted everything the Doctor said
2 months later no video, both songs dead
ReUp droppin and Stat ain't on the single
All these years, blood, sweat and tears
At this point I'm startin to question my peers
It's like they lost they ears
106 and Park I'm in the audience
You mean I gotta sit right here?'
nikka please, this is some bullshyt here
They ain't let me on the stage,
By now I'm feeling like I'm trapped in a maze
Went back to LA
Back in LA, went in the studio for 3 days straight
I came up with Here We Go, I'm like Here We GOOOO <<<<
Dre was lovin it, but Em was like wait.. <<<<

I got something you should investigate
He sent me a song called Dance On It, <<<<<<<<
I told him I liked it as long as he stayed on it with me..
But he thought it should be mine alone

So I recorded it, next day we was both on the phone
He told me"Stat, this is SMASH right here
Nobrainer, this song's gon change your career"

Then Em came to LA on a private plane
I remember this day like my son's first name
What a song.. Em, 50 & Dre <<<<<
Stat Quo, Ca$his also featuring Jay Z <<<<

It sounded like magic to me
Em, Dre, Paul & Stat couldn't agree what the single would be
Same meeting I said a joke to Em <<<<
He took it the wrong way, I apologized the next day <<<<
He said "we was cool", but he ain't accept it <<<<

Watched the sayins on my project, he was done givin effort
Damn, I gotta move, but Paul and Dark still believed
Set up a meeting up with Interscope
To play the - album that I was making for the past 4 to 5
years, the whole building said "The shyt was FIRE"
Went to every magazine and got the same reply
Writers and editors sayin "we love that guy"
My name's Stat, things movin
Let's shoot the Here We Go video
In LA, maybe Dre'll be in it
He's like "No, that ain't happening"

Now I'm feeling low
The spins wasn't picking up, maybe the song sucks..
Naah, Interscope weren't investing bucks
and in the Radiogame, you gotta pay up

(Joel) Ortiz got to leave, G.A.G.E and Tiffany too
They let Obie go, I was so confused

SHOCKED, when I got that news
Young Trice on my LIFE you're a trill ass dude
So by now I'm tryna get outta the deal
Goin back and forth with lawyers for about a year
I thought they had love, they like FUKK my career
I thought they was my dogs, summer spring and fall
Rain, sleet or snow, sun and all
They knew I was hustlin, I received no call

Then I heard Em was sick..
I picked up the phone and called Tracey quick
She said "Em almost died from some pnumonea shyt"
I was goin into fits, damn what a trip..
Shyt.. my boss, my homie, one of the greatest,
the one and only, the nikka done shown me
So much, sent him a card and a porno with hella sluts
Just to lift his spirits up
Tracey called me and said he was doin better
Now I got my mind back focused on getting cheddar
Did a song with B.O.B that P had gave me,
The shyt came out so crazy
I leaked it, I'm tryna get mine baby
But still I'm in the deal with Aftermath and Shady
The record ain't work cause Ricardo played me
Ran off with the money like "Fukk you, pay me"
Now my lawyer tellin me I'm Free
I'm was happy, til I found out they found Lil D.R.E
Dead in his bed, I'm feeling bad for Dre
I called Curtis, to send flowers his way
Dre hold ya head, shyt gon be OK
Just know you gon meet him in the Afterday
As far as Marsha, Ca$his, Bishop, Creek and D-12
I wish y'all heaven, I know y'all goin through hell

When nikkas gettin money, they move like snails
Sometimes bein signed makes you feel like jail - Dear Summer Pt. 2

Y'all gotta go back to them mixtapes he released in that time.
Son had some FIRE on them tapes. Checks & Balances and The Bailout

Check & Balances

He has potential

Even his recent shyt with Scarface was FIRE :ahh:
